I received this book as an ARC from the wonderful author Terry Spear. I have never been disappointed in any of her books and I definitely was NOT disappointed in this one. I absolutely LOVED it and I can't wait to read more of what she has to offer. Her writing style flows gracefully from one instance to another which makes it easy to read and understandable. Her descriptons and characters were so vivid that while reading it I could imagine being there and experiencing everything going on around me. For all the romance lovers out there, this book is definitely jam packed with it. What makes it better is that the hero of the story is none other than Duncan, a Highland wolf. Travelling to the Cayman Islands is not what he considers a vacation but he is determined to find the man that has stolen all of the pack's funds and return it to his pack. He ends up meeting a lone she-wolf that captures his attention and drives his highland heart wild. Duncan is not the alpha of his pack but his alpha personality makes him just as strong and lethal. I love how not only can he be a strong and lethal warrior but he also has a tender side when it involves the lovely and stubborn Shelley. Thrown together by unexpected circumstances they begin to work together as they embark on a dangerous road of securing the funds that were stolen from Duncan's pack from a greedy alpha while also trying to fight off the attraction to one another. Will Duncan go home with a mate and with the money that was stolen from his family?

Duncan MacNeill has been sent to paradise to collect his families fortune stolen by Silverman. Duncan is a highland wolf and part of the MacNeill Clan. Everything is dependent on his success including the MacNeill’s castle home. He can’t afford to be distracted in any way. Shelley Campbell is a botanist and a wolf shifter. She is heading to the Grand Cayman Islands to study the dry forest. When she arrives she discovers that her grant has been embezzled by a Mr. Silverman and she is without funds to pay for her trip. Lucky for her, Duncan’s reservations got messed up. Now Duncan needs a place to stay and she needs a room mate to pay 1/2. Shelley never expected to gain the attention of not 1 but 2 wolves. Caught in the mist of nefarious plans, Shelley must lean on Duncan to survive. Duncan will have to choose between focusing on Shelley safety or saving his clan from finical ruin. This harden warrior might just find out that he has someone new to watch his back. I love the highland wolves! This was fabulously written story, extremely descriptive, you feel like you are right there on The Grand Cayman Island with the characters. The romantic chemistry is hot. And to top it off Howl for A Highlander has a stimulating plot with lots of action and adventure. Oh Yeah, Terry Spears even gets in the kilts and sword play :D. Wonderful addition to the Heart of the Wolf Series, you won’t want to miss out on this engaging story. This ARC copy of A Howl for the Highlander was given to me by Netgalley andSourcebooks Casablanca in exchange for an honest review. Publish Date February 1, 2013.

Within the first few paragraphs, author Terry Spear has a way of pulling you into her story and making you believe it’s plausible. Spear not only paints a beautiful setting with her detailed descriptions, she makes you feel you are there. Her eye for detail, along with her extensive research of the location and wolves is an added bonus for readers of her series. A Howl For A Highlander, Spear’s latest installment in her Heart of the Wolf series, is a fine example of her work. This time around Spear takes readers to the fascinating Grand Cayman Islands and the alluring beauty of the Scottish Highlands. One minute you can feel the ocean breeze on your face, the next you can hear the haunting melody of bagpipes. Former stockbroker and gray wolf Salisbury ‘Sal’ Silverman has stolen from the wrong family this time. He has taken money from the MacNeills and ran off to the Grand Cayman Islands. It’s up to Duncan MacNeill to find Silverman, recovery the money, and make sure the gray wolf doesn’t bother anyone ever again. MacNeill, a Highland wolf, rarely leaves his native homeland. He wants to find Silverman, do what he has to do and get back to Argent Castle, his ancestral home, as fast as he can. What MacNeill nor Silverman planned on was Shelley Campbell, a lone red wolf and beautiful botanist studying plants in the Caribbean. When MacNeill and Campbell are drawn together in their quest to find Silverman, they also find their attraction to one another is as hot as the Caribbean sun. The characters are well-developed and the story flows at a steady pace. Spear combines steamy romance, adventure, a touch of mystery and suspense with a bit of humor to create a well-rounded story. While her book has a paranormal element, the heart of the story deals with love, family and loyalty. With those elements portrayed as she has, you begin to think anything is possible - even shape-shifting werewolves. A Howl For A Highlander is the 10th installment in the Heart of the Wolf series, but can be read on its own. New readers won’t be left in the dark and returning fans will enjoy that the series continues. The romantic Caribbean and the seductive Scottish Highlands mixed with a passionate couple, a dash of intrigue and a splash of humor results in a tantalizing concoction that will hold you spellbound as you turn the pages of A Howl For A Highlander. FTC Full Disclosure - I requested this book and it was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

Hot highlander shifter in a vacation paradise meets an intelligent and feisty female were. Seriously, there could be no other plot point other than that and Terry would have a winner. Of course she adds in a mystery, some suspense, a whole lot of heat and sprinkled it with a few surprises in this " I could not put it down" read. I am kicking myself for not finding this series earlier. She has amazing lore, interesting and fun characters and my personal weakness, shifters. You do not need to have any background into her world in order to enjoy this novel. I never felt like I was missing out key information or that I was coming into the story part way through. I will be going back to read the rest of this series, though. Yummy Goodness, I tell you, Yummy Goodness.

Reviewed by: Crystal Book provided by: NetGalley Review originally posted at Romancing the Book I love paranormal and highlanders… so the combination made me pick up this book. I also loved the cover of the book. I enjoyed the colors and it was very pleasing on the eye. It took me a little bit to get into the book. It just started off a little slow and seemed that there was just a little too much info. Once I got past the first the first couple of chapters and the story line started picking up, I started to get into the story. I love the thought of a werewolf and having their own rules. I always wondered how they took care of werewolves that had done wrong and was just bad. I understood better after reading this book. This is the first book I have read from this author and I’m glad that I took the chance to read it. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline was good. I also loved the thought of a highlander that was a wolf. You know that has to be one sexy man walking around. You can just imagine Duncan strutting around and daring anyone to take one wrong move. I enjoyed watching Duncan and Shelley interact with each other. You know that sparks will fly when you get an alpha male and a woman who is used to doing things for herself and taking action without having to deal with a man who is used to being a boss. The sex between them was really hot and I just love when two werewolves get together and you don’t have a lot of beating around the bush about the others feelings. This book isn’t just about wolves and finding your mate and sex. It’s about a bad wolf who tries to take money away from a clan and not wanting to deal with his actions. It has some suspenseful moments in the book and that gives it great action. I love books that have a great storyline like this book did. I just want to say that even though it did start off a little slow for me and it took a couple of chapters for me to get into it, I am happy I worked through it because I would’ve missed a really great book if I hadn’t. So I recommend this book to anyone who loves highlanders and wolves. Loves a woman that takes care of herself and a man that will do anything for the woman that he loves.

"A Howl for a Highlander" is the latest in Terry Spear's Heart of the Wolf series. In this story wolf Duncan MacNeill takes us from his home in Scotland to Grand Cayman Island in search of the man who stole money from his clan. Along the way he meets American she-wolf, Shelley Campbell. Together Duncan & Shelley bring down the bad guy & find romance. There are some unexpected & surprising parts to this story as there usually are in Terry Spear's books. I have read all of her books & this one will not dissappoint you.
