Excellent story of Mace and Shayla, short (58pages) and sweet novella. Good storyline, entertaining and with enough background that it's a full story. Great ending to a wonderful story. Happy Reading!*****vrnb*****

This was a bit different than what you would expect but quite romantic. It’s a short book about Shayla as she’s coming home with her friend, Randal who is planning to ask her father for her hand in marriage. They are driving in a new car and Randal is driving recklessly fast on slippery roads and has an accident. They are both thrown from the car but only Shayla is conscious. The snow is fairly deep so Shayla was mostly cushioned but has a broken arm. She is afraid they will freeze to death in the cold when she hears a horse and rider approaching. She yells and waves till she gets his attention. Mace is on his way home when he spots a car in a snow bank and a woman waving at him. Mace can’t drive the car so he winds up putting Shayla on his horse and carrying Randal. I won’t say any more for fear of ruining the story but it takes a while and a struggle to arrive at a happy ending. Very nice story.

An accident brings Mace and Shayla together, but his past almost keeps then apart. A wonderful short story about one of the Halsey family whets the appetite for more. Each couple has their own tale and I expect they'll be delightful.
