About the Author
Passion to enact change caused me to start writing. Concern to change other people’s lives inspired this particular story. I see the world as a place of limitless possibilities and amazing discoveries which can be attained by reading a story. The world holds promise for all people who in turn have something valuable to contribute to it; adding beauty and worth to life. At the same time, the world is neither just nor humane; it is plagued by social ills, including hunger and starvation, poverty, violence, disease and marginalization. I envision a world where people of every race, cultural and socio-economic background are able to read. Reading empowers people to have an equal say in the decisions that affect them. I hope my stories will accomplish this. I have realized that reading has low priority for people living in severe and chronic poverty; people who are constantly worried by survival issues. My fervency is in writing stories that they can relate to. I believe this can turn the ‘ifs into reality.’ I would also like to see people discovering the joy that results from reading something new and their visions growing as they see unlimited potential. It is my desire to motivate, to ignite imagination, and to infuse the love for reading through my stories, to give someone a chance to start over and to create a new future.
