Sheriff Blake Gatlin has moved to rural Montana for a fresh start. When he meets Brandyne, a single mom of five who's struggling to make ends meet, he's determined to be the only man to help her out.
Brandyne wants to stand on her own two feet, though, very aware that Blake might not jump in for a ready-made family. However, when her past comes knocking, she's forced to decide between love and what's right for her children.

Not one of my favorites. Needs more action.
You can certainly tell how invested you are in a book when you're saddened by seeing the words The End. A Promise of Forever is such a book, and a wonderful addition to Ms. Eckhart's Married in Montana series. The story of Brandyne and Sheriff Blake Gatlin's evolving relationship from friends to lovers was captivating; Blake's rapport with Brandyne's five children and his determination to not let her pride keep him from giving her and her children the love and stability that they were sorely missing, due to their abandonment by her children's irresponsible rodeo rider father, was heartwarming. Brandyne and her family are also befriended and helped by Andy and Laura Friessen as well as Kim and Bruce Siegel, who are featured in earlier books of this series. I highly recommend this story to all fans of wonderful storytelling and great contemporary western romance. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
I am enjoying this series so much. The building of a new group of friends in Montana each with their own story and romance is very enjoyable. This book follows Brandyne, a mother of five who is struggling to raise her five children alone. Blake, the local sheriff has rallied the town to help out this family. The story shows some parallels with some of the other characters in the series. It’s a quick but enjoyable read.
