I loved continuing Olivia and Dean’s journey as a married couple. As a reader, I’ve enjoyed so many amazing couples but it’s rare for an author to be able to take a couple and continue to deliver new and exciting storylines after you think the HEA is over. Now that Dean and Olivia are parents, this adds new struggles like finding time to be alone as a couple. Olivia is really pushing hard as she works to be and do everything for everyone, essentially over committing herself which makes her sex drive falter. Dean is also busy with work that takes him out of the country then a new job opportunity would involve moving to Paris becomes a complex decision for both of them. This couple always surprises me as they work through their issues, it’s not always perfect but they show us that communication is key while they both face their fears and insecurities. I feel like I know them and they could be my neighbors. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I adore Dean and Olivia. I have loved them from the first book. This series is so amazing and feels so real. The struggles that Liv and Dean go through, most married couples experience from time to time. Between work and kids and any other obligations that arise, intimate time between a husband and wife can fall by the wayside. It's easy to let it happen but so hard to get it back. I loved seeing how Dean and Liv were able to get back to one another even though they both had such crazy busy schedules. The way these two love one another is so beautiful. Very excited to read the next installment, Always, to see where Dean and Liv's adventures take them next.

‘Hell, life is messy. Stormy. Uncontrollable. Maybe all you can do is shelter yourself with the people you love most. At least then, you can enjoy the good weather and get through the storms together.’ ~Liv Minor spoilers alert!!! I loved it! This 4th novel in the adventures of Professor Dean and Liv West was an extremely realistic look at the various issues facing this sexy, smart married couple who struggled to balance their roles as lovers, parents and professionals with competing demands. It had all of the elements that I loved about the previous novels – flirty dialogue, steamy phone calls, sexting, flashbacks, fantasy enactments, and moments of deep reflection. Plus, we got more Kelsey and Archer as their lives intersected with the lives of Dean, Liv and 2-year old Nicholas in Mirror Lake. Never ending perfection really would be boring long term. But Liv craved it for various reasons, so it takes her a while to realize that fact. She struggled to be the perfect mom, the perfect wife, the perfect business partner, and the perfect community event organizer. She was definitely guilty of steamrolling over the people trying to warn her of potential disasters before her eventual wake-up call. Learning to accept help when offered was hugely significant for her. Dean was conditioned to being the “fixer” in his nuclear family. Breaking that habit was hard for him. Gradually over the course of Dean and Liv's marriage, Dean learned to let Liv fail if necessary as she figured things out. Mostly, he was able to redirect that need to fix everything into his academic career. It was no wonder that a new professional organization sought out Dean’s problem solving expertise for conservation on a global scale. Unfortunately, this new opportunity for Dean wasn't exactly complimentary to Liv’s ambitions as a co-owner of the Wonderland Café. And the new job certainly wouldn't be conducive to Liv's need for stability. How could Dean satisfy his professional advancement with his need to make Liv happy and secure? Neither of them wanted the other to give up so much for the other and both wanted to avoid inspiring resentment. The other glaringly obvious issue was their frustrating lack of sex. The solution to the professional dilemmas came to me pretty quickly, but Liv and Dean had to figure this out at their own paces. Both Liv and Dean came up with fun ways to reignite their passion, ways that alternately had me giggling or fanning myself in voyeuristic excitement for them. I enjoyed witnessing their growth immensely as they found a way to still have it all without sacrificing their connection and dream for their family unit. ‘Some things, I think, were clearly meant to be.’ ~Liv The above quote perfectly describes my favorite fictional married couple, imperfect as they may be. I look forward to seeing what monster Dean thinks he has to slay next for Liv in Always (Spiral of Bliss #5) whenever it’s released. And that cover deserves its own 5-stars! It's absolutely gorgeous, one of my top favorites so far this year. ♥

Live and Dean West! They are such a hot couple! This is the 4th book in the series and Nina Lane has done an awesome job AGAIN! I really love that this couple has "real life" experiences. Their story is relatable in so many ways. Adding a child into the mix causes lots of stress and just as many changes! It was fun to see a different side of their relationship and to see how they kept their relationship on track!
