Adultolescence is a book that takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It makes you laugh but it also makes you want to cry. You can feel the emotion that Gabbie is portraying in her writing. I am honestly obsessed with this book. There are so many poems that are relatable to me and others that I know as well. I am quite the skeptic when it comes to poetry, but I have to say that this book of poems definitely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this book. It is well worth the read.

This book is: Amazing. Captivating. Inspirational. I honestly did not like the whole trend of youtuber books, although I really enjoyed Shane Dawson's. BUT Gabbie has changed my view. I just received it TODAY and I have read it twice. In her poems you can feel the sadness, the despair, the happiness. There are very books that get me teary eyed and this is one of them. This is a well written book about the struggles in ones life. It felt like some poems were about my life. That is what makes this book so amazing, it reaches and grabs onto your own experiences and struggles. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Well done, and I hope to see more to come.

Not only does she define he own thoughts, she sums up the thoughts of every person on this Earth that you know. She did a fenominal job on this work of art, "both beautiful, and yet still full of pain." This book is a must read for anyone that has ever had a struggle in their lives - everyone. Good job Gabbie, keep up the awesome work!

This is the first poetry book I've ever picked up by choice and it's about what I expected it to be. This book doesn't take itself seriously in most of the poems. It features a dark and sarcastic type of humor (in a few poems) and has a few gems in that department. I enjoy the dramatic and overly expressive stories Gabbie posts on her youtube channel, so I wasn't expecting this novel to be a masterpiece of timeless poems to be appreciated and treasured throughout history. This was a fun, fluffy and at times dark book, all the while bringing attention to bullying and a few other issues throughout the novel. Favorite Poetry Lines: "My art form is heartache peppered with delusions of grandeur" "I'm the cockiest most insecure confident self-conscience self-assured anxious proud self-loathing person I know."

Adultolescence is a lovely poetry collection that shows we are all in that middle ground between adolescence and adulthood. I love the high relatability that I had to these poems and the illustrations done by Hanna are amazing! I definitely would be interested in reading more work by Gabbie Hanna!

From this book I only read a little bit. Now I can say that I just went through a break up. This book has a really powerful impact on some ppl. And now I can say that proudly. He cheated on me the first time then he told me he’s gay which I REALLY SO RESPECT. But for some reason I feel like he’s playing with my feelings. And the weirdest part I FELT THAT HE WAS GOING TO BREAK UP WITH ME 2DAY!

This book was great, the illustrations were beautiful. Im am very proud of Gabbie as it is a great book and while reading it I noticed a personal feel to how Gabbie felt. It has melancholy poetry and, to my surprise , also funny poetry. I really enjoyed the book, dont get me wrong. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because some of the poems ,as Gabbie even metions is the book herself, were "fillers" and not really thought out or meaningful . Like she says they are there because she had a deadline and I bet that if she had more time they would be great poems. For being her first book and her first official take on poetry she did a pretty great job, but like all things we do, there is room to do better.

I have to preface this review and I don’t want any of you to get the wrong idea… I don’t like poetry. There, I said it. However, Adultolescence by Gabbie Hanna really read more like short, rhythmic essays than a book of poetry. I mean, I didn’t realize I read the whole book, which is 248 pages, in an hour! That’s how good it was. Besides having witty, dark, and [hashtag] relatable poems, Hanna’s book had gorgeous illustrations that the author drew herself. This just means that Ms. Hanna is not only a really funny YouTuber but a talented writer and artist to boot. It may be unfair to the rest of us common folk, but it doesn’t make it any less true when talking about the brilliance that is Adultolescence. The only downside is that Amazon clearly had no care in getting the book to me because the cover is bent in ways this reviewer cannot describe. Other than that, it’s a beautiful, funny, insightful, and vivid look into the mind and talent of Gabbie Hanna, which I would recommend to anyone any day of the week. (Even if that someone doesn’t like poetry, such as myself.) So it’s going to be a whopping 5 out of 5 stars for the very funny and talented work that is Adultolescence by Gabbie Hanna (a.k.a. The Gabbie Show).
