Loved Tyler's and Laney's story. This is the second book in the Second Chances series and each one keeps getting better & better. As usual I tried to read slowly but the story just pulls you in and you have to keep turning the page to see what happens next. You will never be disappointed in a book written by Peggy L. Henderson. Looking forward to the next one. JudyE

I really enjoyed this story. Laney and Tyler are soul mates separated by time. They both needed each other to heal their broken hearts. The intrigue was very nicely done. I really didn't see how they would get their Happily Ever After.

I loved this story. I think a lot of readers will be able to relate to Laney and how hard life is to live in. Laney went through a hard growing up, but was stronger for it and didn't give up when she wanted to. She gave her life a second chance and met Tyler, who had his own hardships in life. This is such a wonderful story that reflects real life people and one of Peggy Henderson's best writings to date. I was so filled with emotion reading this book. Great writing and great read!

This book captured my heart on so many levels. I have enjoyed all of Peggy L. Henderson's books, and "Ain't No Angel" certainly didn't disappoint. This time she takes us back 150 years to the dramatic landscape of a thriving horse ranch in the Montana territory. I was drawn to the ultra-masculine, yet equally sensitive cowboy, Tyler. His rugged exterior hides some deep wounds from his childhood that aren't easily healed. I love how you feel as though you are right there with the characters. You become part of their reality as Laney unknowingly breaks down the walls that Tyler has built around his heart, and Tyler patiently reminds Laney that he isn't going anywhere. The depth of the characters allows you to understand how they are feeling and why they react the way they do in every situation. Even the secondary characters add so much to this story. And what about the mysterious "reverend"? Who is that guy? How does he know so much? Just when you think you've got it figured out, Ms. Henderson pulls one of her classic "twists" and surprises you! Never a predictable moment (I love that!). The backdrop of the whole story is the vast countryside and Tyler's ranch. The author's deep understanding of horses shines through and her ability to make it as though it were second-nature to the reader is incredible. I almost felt the wind blowing through my hair as they raced up the hill! Can you tell I loved this story? Oh, Yeah!

I enjoyed the first book in this series. It seemed at first this second book would be even better. I was captured from the first pages and anxiously devoured the following chapters. However, the thrill was lost along the way. I still enjoyed the story but not as much as the first installment. When the story began Laney grabbed my heart. The humor I got from reading the shock of her finding herself back in time was hilarious. The way she reacted to the coach ride, the occupants riding with her and the clothes she found herself wearing was so funny. I thought, what a character! However, she lost the spark somehow trying to adjust. I don’t regret reading the story though. Just didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would judging from the beginning.

This series is aptly named Second Chances and no one needs one more than the heroine of Ain't No Angel, Laney Goodman. She has been running on empty since she aged out of the foster care system, and is now at a point where selling herself to keep the wolf from her door seems like a viable option to homelessness. After being given an unbelievable offer to turn her life around, she wakes up in a stagecoach in the year 1872. What follows is a page turning, action filled story of love against all odds and sibling hatred that knows no boundaries.

I liked the plot but about a third of seemed like the characters were stuck in a loop-- not interacting or advancing the plot. Laney's unwillingness to fit into the 1870 culture should have sparked more curiosity with Tyler. Overall, it was ok,not great
