Out of all the woman in this root-twisted, eccentricity of bittersweet fruit world that I had seen through the looking glass of the female human spirit, Natalie Cole is truly the glistened dove with the wings of eternal youth, flourishing faith, and inevitable freedom that portrays an artist that has finally let her spirit free from waiting and into the breeze of heaven that truly sweeps me into solace.

This book was outstanding. Thank you Natalie for sharing your life. This is one of the best reads I have experienced. I know that it took a lot of courage to make yourself so vulnerable. I hope that many will have the opportunity to read this heartfelt story. Thank you Natalie.

This was an excellent book. Regardless of whether you are a book lover or a music lover you are destined to become engulfed by this book. Natalie's honesty and candor served as not only food for her soul, but also mine. The reader was not required to walk in Natalie's shoes in order to relate to her. A variety of life experiences and the affects of various relationships were covered (i.e. parental relationships, romantic ones, and friendships where you least expect them). The main idea was not simply surviving life's lessons and/or experiences, but more importantly always going to the next level with your eyes wide open in hopes of learning from your mistakes and experiences. Natalie repeatedly reiterated the fact that you must always be honest with yourself in order to survive the decisions that you make. Total honesty sometimes means facing pain head on. It took Natalie several years to learn that lesson and one awesome book to teach that lesson.

Not only was this a wonderful autobiography, but it is full of honesty, wisdom and love. After reading this book, I can look at my own life with a clearer committment to be true to myself and others. I'm usually a slow reader but it took me only 2 days to read this book. I'll be looking forward to 'Angel on My Shoulder - Part 2'.

I liked this book very much. Natalie tells about growing up in the shadow of her famous dad, Nat King Cole; the impact of his death when she just turned 15 on her life; her rise to fame and how she almost lost it all, along with her child and her life because of drugs; her struggle to stay clean; her remarkable comeback; her difficulties dealing with her mother; an abusive marriage and so much more. Natalie's love and admiration for her father is apparent throughout the book. He is the Angel on her shoulder, and she credits him and God for everything that she is. You will find this book inspirational and revealing. An outstandingly honest book from a talented lady. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly, this autobiography provides insight into the bad times as well as the good times of Natalie Cole, the famous singer and daughter of one of the all time music greats. Ms. Cole pulls no punches as she discusses her love-hate relationship with her mother, the influence and worship of her father (to the point that the human Nat King Cole seems more like a statue on a pedestal than a flesh and blood man), and her former spouse¿s influence on her life and work.

Fans of rock and roll will enjoy this insightful autobiography that is well written. Although, there are no incredible shockers, Ms. Cole shines a light on herself and her extended family that gives readers an opportunity to understand what motivates her. To the fans of Ms. Cole and her father ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER: AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF NATALIE COLE is ¿Unforgettable¿.

All I can say is this book is incredible. Natalie took her time to share her life with us without bashing anyone else. That is so incredibly rare when other divas are using their books as the opportunity to slander someone else's name! She really took the time to talk about what was going on with her. Go get this book
