Angel's Kiss (Angel Series, #1) by Melanie Tomlin

Not mortal, not vampire ... what is she?

Helena wants to die, but when a vampire tries to take her life she instinctively unleashes a mysterious, deadly power she never knew she had.

When Danizriel — an angel — arrives on the scene, he's puzzled to find Helena alive and the vampire dead. Intrigued, he shelters her and together they discover that she has become something neither of them expected.

Their growing attraction is soon threatened when news of Helena's unnatural abilities quickly spreads. She becomes the target of a deadly hunt by vampires and Danizriel is placed in an impossible situation when he is told he must kill her.

With overwhelming forces closing in, Helena and Danizriel face death from all directions. Who will live and who will die?

Melanie Tomlin, or Queen M—as I call her—created a very entertaining and intriguing story that will make you want to live in her books. For all I know, she could be the next Anne Rice, and this book will be the next big thing in theaters. Angels and Vampires have a special place in my heart. This book has been recommended to me, and upon seeing the cover, I was intrigued, confused even. Why is it entitled Angel’s Kiss when the cover shows a bloody lip? I mean, it shows on the cover that it was a vampire so why the hell is it entitled an Angel’s Kiss? Yes, I judge its cover without reading it just yet. The book started with a very human scene—a girl who wanted to die—a girl named Helena was yearning for death to come, but instead, she became the death of the vampire who drink on her. And yes, in just the first-three short chapter, the whole foundation of the story has been established well. When I say established, it had already given you questions that you yearned to have an answer. Apparently, when the Angel named Danny—as he first told Helena—explained to her that only an Angel blood can kill a vampire, and it would also be a death sentence for her, more questions started emerging. Helena, being an unknown entity, Danny decided to keep her to know what she really was. Danny, keeping Helena was, well, the start of a relationship every girl fantasizes about. Danny—well, he is obviously perfect because he is an angel, but still, getting to know him more seems like you wanted to sin with him. Yes, like you wanted to forget all rationalities left in your mind and go inside the book and replace Helena in his life. Kidding aside, I really wanted Danny out of the book. HAHA. Seriously, Danny and Helena’s relationship was established by pure curiosity and interest in each other; Helena wanted to know who Danny is, his story and as for Danny, he doesn’t care about Helena’s past or how Helena’s perspective about things. Danny accepts Helena for who really she is, and he was fascinated by Helena’s identity This book was balanced and laid-out carefully. Every detail, in my opinion, has been planned very well. There is some bible teaching that was tweaked by the author, and honestly speaking (no offense meant), the author had given a better version of some parts of the Bible. The author is also well knowledgeable about the topics (especially the Angels and the hierarchy she used). Furthermore, the book is not just about romance stuff, but it has some rich Angel history that you’ll love exploring, also there is some action, comedy, and drama that you’ll definitely love. You might be curious about how the story ends? The story ends with—well, you better read the book to know how it ends. Salute to Queen M for creating this perfect book. An interesting twist on angels & demons I loved this book. Miss Tomlin honestly put some serious thought into writing this story and it was great! I love how she explained a lot of the back story so you could truly understand how the story goes

This book had delivered what a lot of other novels had failed to deliver (in my opinion); proper introduction. It might be a small aspect for some people but not for me. Yes, it might be simply told through a conversation and might not be creatively scattered throughout the book for readers to uncover, but I couldn't care less. Readers could get a perfect view of what this world look like and what is happening there before we get any further, and I don't know about you but that helps me a lot in finishing a book without getting confused and bored mid way. The plot and twists towards the usual myths about vampires, werewolves, and angels are absolutely creative. I found Melanie Tomlin's idea to be fresh and original. And Helen's character development is also a plus point for me, she is officially my current girl crush. Even when she's physically unable to fight, her strong will and determination is amazing. And Danny (our swoon-worthy angel) is just as amazing. The pace might be slow but the writing style and conflicts had made up for it, so much that I found myself looking forward to my next free time so I can continue reading this book. Overall, I am in love with this book! Totally recommended to you paranormal romance lovers. Looking forward for the next installment!
