Overview

Nancy takes us on a journey through her childhood years with an Italian/Polish upbringing, and continues through the triumphs and tribulations of her adulthood with sarcastic humor and grace. As we become immersed in Nancy's true-life story telling, it becomes obvious that she has a knack for humor in the most unexpected, yet highly relatable moments that we all share in life. Nancy takes us on a humorous and touching journey in which all stories have a common thread: Life's absurdities show us that we are not alone for this wild ride. Loving oneself for who you are and not what other's want you to become is imperative. To quote William Shakespeare's "Hamlet", "This above all: To thine own self, be true."

I usually do not write reviews, however, this was a great read. I had to read his book in the privacy of my own home.  I tried reading it for the first time on the train,I laughed so hard I cried and was disturbing the other passengers around me.  I was actaully asked what  I was reading?  I showed her the book and hopefully she purchased a copy for her enjoyment.  You can really relate to this book as takes you back to your childhood as you are reading you recall similar situations and how it seemed (at the time_ ) it was the end of the world but we survived and as we look back we laugh and laugh.  I could not  put the book down, wondering what was going to happen next.   The writing was spectacular and I look forward to seeing more writings from this author.   Diane Parson

A thouroughly entertaing journey from adolesence through the NOW. An uplifting, albeit somewhat honest description of the world as it is. Like being next to tyhe person who says what you wish you had the balls to say....

This book is a fantastic fast, easy, and interesting read.  The author really has a great sense of humor that grabs at the attention of the reader right off the bat.  The humor is very sarcastic; yet it has an abundant of stories that the reader can understand and relate too.  This adds character, from the first page to the last, never was there a dull moment in this writing this author wrote.  This book took me in total 4 hours to read without putting it down, it was a hard book to put down it is continus laughter.  I would recommend this book to people who have a great sense of humor and looking for something different to read that’s fast and enjoyable.

At times nostalgic, at others irreverent, but always funny, Nancy Chovancek has an uncanny ability to take what most would see as mundane and turn it into hilarious. Many times, as I read, I recalled my childhood and was able to see similar situations in a new light. Above all, Chovancek shows that we have a choice just about every day: we can allow events to pass without much attention, or we can choose to see the humor that exists in just about every situation.
