Anthony by Kathi S. Barton

Coleen had heard just about all she wanted to hear from her grandmother about the Bentleys--no one could be that nice. There had to be an angle there somewhere. People just didn't help other people for nothing--not in this day and age.

Tony Bentley wasn't expecting to find his mate, and as a Were Panther he could even understand her reluctance. He was, after all, a Bentley, and the poor woman had been taken through the ringer, but she was his mate, and he wasn't about to take no for an answer.

Coleen's ex had left her in a heap of debt, and she couldn't allow herself to bring that kind of baggage into a relationship. She'd work through it somehow--without the help of the mighty Bentleys.

Colleen has had more than her fair share of problems with men. After being forced into a marriage she never wanted, she's now forced to give up her dreams of opening her own restaurant and deal with a man who has unattainable goals for her. When she finally feels like she's free of him, after filing for divorce, he dies and she's now left with hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt to pay off in his name. Now she's forced to sell everything she possess and move to Ohio with her grandmother to lick her wounds and hope she doesn't work to death paying off all this debt. Tony's goals are simple. Take care of his family and open his small vet clinic. He's already convinced he's lost his mate years before, so he's accepted a life alone. The Bentley family is known to help out those who ask or need it, especially their friends. With Bethany taking care of a great granddaughter and now her granddaughter moving in, things are tight. But who knew that helping out a little old woman would bring Tony the one person he thought he would never have? The Bentley family is now ready to help Colleen in any way they can and even help her attain her dreams along the way. The only question now is, can Colleen open her heart again to a man?

Coleen was out of options - due to an unfortunate marriage and then thinking she was divorced she was in debt up to her eyes because of her "ex" husband - she had no choice to move back in with her grandmother and help her with her niece until she got back on her feet. Anthony (Tony) Bentley knew that Bethany's granddaughter was having problems and coming home. He helped Bethany get in touch with her - what he didn't know was that she was his mate. He has his work cut out for him to get her to trust a man again. Can Coleen put the past behind her and trust men again? Can Tony make her believe that all men are not the same? Will they become one? Another great read by Kathi S Barton and would recommend to everyone as a must read.

Another fun book to add to a great series. Colleen is quite a character, she comes off as timid, shy and unstinting but she has a core of strength that she can call upon when she needs it. Tony seems to be one of the quiet Bentley brothers, he is the veterinarian and he has a big heart. Colleen needed saving and Tony needed to save her, the fit together really well. I love that the male characters get such interesting women, they add spice to the storyline and keeps things hopping. Interacting with the other family members keeps us updated on what is going on in the family and draws you farther into the combined storylines and plots. As always there are plenty of twist and turns to keep you turning the pages making you wonder if there really are such bad people out there. To make things interesting we always get something unique at the end, wetting your appetite and raising your curiosity as to what will happen next in this exciting series. I volunteered to review an advanced reader copy of this book.
