About the Author

As an ailing infant, Nancy was given her spirit name, Pay Comikeezhegook, and a prophecy. Fulfilling that promise, she became an advocate for her people. Her interests are broad-homelessness, addictions, reconciliation and healing. As a woman she fights fiercely against the victimization of aboriginal women and for environmental preservation. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she nurtures and heals those around her. As an elder she teaches the skills and wisdom of her ancestors to a new generation. Her work has been honoured by community activists, by the aboriginal people and by various governmental sectors. At 85 years of age, she lives each day with purpose, ceremony and commitment to the Creator.
