Aunt Laura, a seamstress by profession, worked for a wealthy couple and produced beautiful gowns that met famous people around the turn of the century. Aunt Laura takes her nieces into her attic to retrieve scraps of cloth from bygone days so the girls can sew doll clothes. Laura then proceeds to tell the story of the magnificent gown that left the fabric remnant and the incredible life of the individual that the gown and it's owner met.
