Persephone O’Brien is a psychic with a spirit guide who is more absent than not. When a client shows up and tells her that his girlfriend is possessed by aliens, she is (understandably) skeptical. But when Otto, the elusive spirit guide, tells her to be at a specific place without giving her any details, she lands herself face-first in a big alien conspiracy. Though this is first and foremost a paranormal fantasy with action and suspense, it is also a romance, which just made it for me. Persephone is tuned into the universe, so I got that she fell for Paul—incredibly fast—because she felt it was right. One thing that made me skeptical was that Paul fell for her really fast too. They’ve known each other for days and they’re already acting as if they’ve been together for years. I was a little iffy about that. But putting that aside, the intrigue and the alien/government conspiracy in this book kept me flipping the pages and wondering how Persephone and Paul were going to get out of this mess. I honestly did not know how they were going to get out of the intricate web they were trapped in and save the world, but when it got to it, it was a bit…too easily resolved. It was still amazing to read and kept me flipping the pages (or rather, hitting the right side of my Kindle) to find out what they were going to do next. Especially with that twist at the end I didn’t see coming. But that, too, was easily resolved (thanks, Otto) and all is happy and well with the world. For now. What knocked this book down from a four star rating to a three point five was the fact that the big, huge problem was resolved a little bit too easily for my liking, and same for the plot twist that Otto ended up solving. I would have liked a bit more conflict, but it was still a very good book. I can’t wait to read the next books in this trilogy, and I’m looking forward to see what else Christine Pope has in store for me!

BAD VIBRATIONS is an alien invasion series and is a mix of adventure, conspiracy theories and alien hunting! It was a great break from reality! It's fast paced and had me hooked in no time! Persephone is a psychic, a real one, and with her spirit guide Otto, she has made a name for herself dealing with Hollywood types and steering them away from disasters in their careers. When an new client tells her about the strange antics of his girlfriend, she gets pulled into the mayhem of alien hunting! Paul is an academic and alien hunter. His beliefs got him binned from his Astrophysics position at university and he is now part of the underground network dealing with aliens usurping certain bases and using humans as disposable test subjects. When Otto leads her to Paul they end up on the run and meet up with others in the network in Sedona: Kara, Kiki, Lance and Matthew. They make an awesome group of alien hunters, each with their own ideas on what is happening and each with a little something extra to make them invaluable to Paul and Persephone as the danger mounts. The plot is well paced and as long as you like alien type stories you will get sucked right in! Please disconnect from reality and enjoy this adventure with awesome characters and the eponymous Men in Black (there is definitely more to them than the usual government agent). Can't wait to get stuck into book 2!

A young man walks into a psychic's office complaining that his girlfriend has been taken over by aliens. A little unusual she thinks, especially when his descriptions just seem to have his girlfriend doing other things out of the norm. Later she gets drawn into a world of UFO followers and meets Dr. Paul Oliver, and her heart seems to take her wherever she needs to be with him, including running away from aliens, and saving his life. Romance, humor, suspense and a quick pace with keep you turning the pages as fast as you can read to keep up with Persephone and her new friends and their desire to follow aliens and save the planet.
