Overview

Beard Mode (Dixie Warden Rejects MC Series #1) by Lani Lynn Vale

Aaron 'don't ever call me Fatbaby' Sims is lucky to be alive. Or at least that is what everyone keeps telling him. He doesn't feel lucky, though.
He's scarred, has more than a little bit of a bad attitude, and there isn't a single day that goes by that he doesn't wish his wife would've just finished off the job.

After being denied his old position at the fire department, he leaves, and doesn't look back. He heads straight to Alabama and into the semi-welcoming arms of The Dixie Wardens MC. There he becomes a part of a brotherhood that forces him to get back in the land of the living.
---
Imogen is a smart girl. A girl who doesn't always make the best decisions.

Her heart is in the right place when she walks into that prison, but it doesn't take long for her to realize that her heart shouldn't have had any say so in the matter. Especially when one wrong move lands her in the arms of a scarred man that looks frightening enough to scare any sane woman away.
Immediately enthralled by the angry man, she tries to get closer to him. But the harder she tries to get to know him, the further he pushes her away.
---
The only thing Aaron wanted to do after his now ex-wife was sent to jail was escape. Escape the awful memories. The pity-filled eyes. The curious glances.

He does a damn fine job at ensuring he draws as little as attention as possible, but then that annoying woman with her startling blue eyes starts hammering away at his resolve. Makes him feel when he doesn't want to feel.

Imogen comes into his life and carves out a place for herself, obliterating his defenses one heated kiss at a time.

Her Stories are captivating. I love the way she intermingles the characters from previous books and other series and brings it all together.

I was excited to start this new series lanis books are my automatic buy no matter what we'll this book was kinda disappointing I hate hate to say that but I felt there were numerous error in the book my times I has to reread a section bureaus I wasn't sure what has happened compared to the previous paragraph I felt the characters could have been fleshed out more there a a lot of confusion on which sister was which and where the truck was and what happened the bad guys? Also it seemed like Imogen was injured with cuts on her face and broken bones but when she told the story of what haopened..... there was nothing like that stuff didn't happen.. It was nice to see some reoccurring characters but this book was too busy with extra people I really was unable to connect with them other than the older characters I did like the tank storyline and also how much of a reader Aaron is.

Is there a better way to know an author than through her writing? Of course not and starting with an MC book was the cherry on top of the cake... Seriously  I haven't read any book from this author but I can assure you that I'll manage to read them all.  Lani Lynn Vale has an intense, raw and full on meaning writing that can make you read non stop.  Beard Mode is the first book from The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC and I can't wait for the next one.  This book tells the stories of Aaron and Imogen.  Aaron left his life behind and moved to his childhood town to a fresh start. He needed to leave behind his family and friend in hope to start over, forgeting his past and the things that keep hunting him. But things aren't easy as they seem because having your ex wife trying to burn you to dead can leave not only physical scares but mental ones to. Because of that he don't trust any woman or men. He just wants to give up sometimes but he needs to fight a d with the help of his MC brothers he will. When he sees the beautiful Imogen...  Imogen is a former Marine and because of that she's also a badass woman that don't take shi... from no-one. When her childish crush returns to her town she can't belive her luck but he's so dark and moody. It doesn't matter if she wants to avoid him because every turn she takes he's there...  And I'm hooked. Hooked for another MC series and I can't wait see the next book.  This story is intense, amazing and with so much sadness into it.  The plot is amazing and the interaction between the characters is beautiful, raw and moody.  The story progressed in a way that I wanted to keep reading and reading until it was over.  Can't wait for what's about to come.  I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This story has a great premise, but it has story gaps, editorial mistakes and it almost reads as a rough draft or outline. Then at the "epilogue" portion, it just has random snippits of conversations between characters¿ that should have been included along the way or as if the author was jotting down possible conversations between characters that she was THINKING to include later. I really wanted to enjoy this book, but until the author can describe scenes ad characters better as well as link scenes more cohesively, I'm passing.

First book in the new series, Beards, with Aaron who needs love like no other, glad he found it in Imogen. Aaron has had heartache, and he has the scars to remind him. This book had plenty of steamy loving, conflict, suspense, and just an overall great story. Highly recommend any of Ms. Vale's books. This was about 200 nook pages.****

3.5 stars I found Aaron and Imogen's story to be an pretty easy, sexy contemporary read! There are some tough moments that had me close to tears and brought to mind many newspaper headlines over the past year about fallen police officers, but it wasn't so much that it dragged the story down. I haven't read the series leading up to this one and had no problems picking up on who's who. I'm also looking forward to the next book of the series!

This book is going to hit you in the guts, make you laugh, bring tears to your eyes, and want to rethink everything you think you know about some things and people. Loved Aaron and Imogen's love story. Where Imogen finds a man to truly love her and her quirks, and Aaron finds a woman that a hero like him deserves. Plus the twists. One guts you, while the other leaves you reeling. Loved the book. It's a must read if you've read Lani Lynn Vale's other books. New characters, old characters and characters with a big twist. While I look forward to Fear the Beard and Son of the Beard, I am really looking forward to seeing how Lani baits us with more bits about Ghost and his story.

Reject 1 Once again Lani has another hit on her hands and a new series that I'm going to devour every time a new book drops. As a reader of almost all of Lani's books I was so happy to see Aaron story finally get told. After recovering from a accident caused by his devilish ex-wife and not being able to rejoin his firefighters squad he packs up and head home to his mother and a town to get lost in. While there he joins the Dixie Warden Rejects MC a brotherhood that makes him slowly join the land of the living again. Enter Imogen who he first meets at work but soon realizes that she his next door neighbor. The chemistry is palpable as soon as they meet but Aaron has sworn off women so no can do as they say. Too bad Imogen has a sassy streak a mile long and will go after what she wants regardless of how he might feel. This book was fantastic and I'm definitely intrigued with the secondary characters as well as the main ones. This book will light a fire in you that can only be extinguished with the next book in what will be a great series.
