Brook Ogden has never encountered a broken heart she couldn't patch together...
Her counseling practice as the Breakup Doctor-on call to help you shape up after a breakup-is so busy she's expanded to offer group sessions. (Turns out there are far more than fifty ways to leave your lover.) Her radio show and advice column have made her a local celebrity, and even her personal life, after some gruesome breakups of her own, is in recovery: Ben Garrett started out as a revenge date against an ex, but has turned into so much more.
But when sizzling-hot Chip Santana, an old client she once shared a rather unprofessional midnight roll in the sand with, comes back into her life asking for her help, Brook can't say no. Yet while she's busy stitching up his relationship troubles, Chip reveals much more than a therapeutic interest in her.
In the standoff between her heart and her hormones, Brook's cool, collected Wise Therapist persona begins to crack like thrown wedding china. She's yelling at recalcitrant cheating husbands. Offering crazy advice to radio callers. She's even hugging her clients.
When the situation goes critical, Brook's forced into a decision she isn't ready to make-and the Breakup Doctor has to decide what kind of casualties she's willing to accept.

Phoebe was ever so kind as to ask me to review her lovely Breakup Doctor Series – there are 4 books in the series, books 1 – The Breakup Doctor, and book 2 – Bedside Manners are already published. Book 3 – Heart Conditions (more info below) will be out on February 9th, but is available for pre-order now on amazon. I will post the review for ‘Heart Conditions’ on February 9th. Brook Ogden is the main character of all of the books. She’s a licensed mental health counselor who suddenly finds herself out of a practice and desperation forces her to take on the role of ‘The Breakup Doctor’ with a local newspaper that her best friend works for. Brook wants to help everyone with their relationships, her family, her friends but she’s a little lost when it comes to taking her own advice. I gave these two books 5+ coffees – aka ‘Hells to the Yeah’. Brook appears to have it all together in the dating world to her clients but that is definitely not the case. One ‘almost’ marriage, a nearly perfect almost live in boyfriend, a trip to the ER and a party with friends of the past, send her down paths that could bring out the crazy in every woman on the planet. Brook is hilarious, insightful and fun to read and I truly felt like we were friends midway through book 1. She reminded me a bit of Janet Evanovich’s ‘Stephanie Plum’ with her crazy ideas on dating and her even crazier clientele. Which for me meant I was never bored and I was incredibly glad I had the first 3 books to read all in one weekend (which I did, in less than 48 hours actually – the husband loves when I do that – ‘what’s for dinner, honey?’ I dunno… what’s in the fridge, I’m busy.) Phoebe is a great writer and the story flows easily from book to book. Drama, fun and heartbreaks are all through the books and I guarantee you won’t want to put them down. This show needs to be a TV series… I’d be hooked and I think it has the potential to go that way. (Because obviously I’m an expert at predicting the next big TV show – I don’t even have cable, but take my word for it!) To me this series is perfect, I want to read more of Brook and her friends and I added it to my top 10 reads of the year. I’ll be reading anything and everything Phoebe Fox writes with excitement! What I loved: -There are a lot of tiny story-lines within each book and I loved that because you never felt like skipping through to the one you liked most. -The boys are intriguing and hard to decide who to root for! -Brook’s family is funny, crazy and drive her crazy which is fun and was a great addition to the story. -Brook’s clients! Holy Moses, I’ve been married a LONG time but these people have some issues that are true to life and true enough to make you feel for each of them. -My own real life best friend’s name is Brookie Lynn so I was interested from the first page. What I didn’t love: -That I don’t have book 4 yet! I seriously loved them. What I thought of the cover(s): -LOVE the covers, very genre fitting, super cute and you can tell they all belong to the same series. My conclusion: Seriously, go buy the books and don’t wait another second because before you know it book 3 and 4 will be out and you’ll be the last to read this fabulous series! Phoebe is an excellent writer, true to chick lit and true to romantic comedy. You’ll laugh out loud, root for almost every character and become friends with some awesome fictional people who can live in your head forever!
This is the second book in the Breakup Doctor series and Phoebe Fox doesn't disappoint! This was a quick, enjoyable read over the weekend. Light, witty, with a small mix of relationship drama. Brook's bedside manner is questioned with a 'oops' moment with a former client. Will that slip in judgment cause a rift in her relationship status?
Breakup Doctor is Back! This is a great book; this is the second book in the Breakup Doctor Series by Phoebe Fox. This can be read as a standalone, but it would be best to read the first book just so you can get to know the characters from the beginning. Brook is known as the Breakup Doctor, she helps people deal with breakups. She has so many clients that she ends up offering group sessions. The people who show up for the group could not be any different from each other. Brook is still having her own relationship issues with her current boyfriend Ben, and then her old client Chip comes back into her life. I enjoy all of the characters in this book, and love how these situations can really end up happening for someone in real life. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series, and I hope that Brook can find peace in her relationships including her parents. I highly recommend this series.
