Very good Douay-Rheims edition in the correct chapter and verse order. The text is clean, with good formatting. The navigation is very user friendly, easy to understand and convenient.

I just got my Nook a couple of weeks ago and wanted to download a very good Douay-Rheims Bible on it. Somehow this one caught my eye so I bought it just in time for my Sunday service and Bible study. I am so very happy with it! The navigation is super easy, even for a newbie like me, and the formatting is clean and very nicely done. I loved the fact that I can "flip" to any verse in the Bible right from the Table of Contents with just a few clicks. My friends at church commented on how convenient this is :).

I love this edition of the Douay-Rheims Bible. It actually follows the correct order of the chapters and verses and has the right names of the books (D-R is different that KJV or most other American Bible translations in that it is translated from the Latin Vulgate and follows the Greek chapter/verse numbering, found in Vulgate). I also appreciate the fact that it is quite easy to navigate due to an active table of content and working hyperlinks. It would be completely perfect, though, if it could instill itself in people's hearts and minds. But I guess it's an issue above Nook's possibilities...

As a Traditional Catholic who is disappointed with the very Protestantized New American Bible translation, which is the official Church translation used in America, I prefer the incredibly accurate Douay version, which is faithfully translared from St. Jerome's Vulgate, itself the most well researched and accurate translation from the original languages. I got the samples for six different Douay versions and read the first chapter of Genesis on each one. This is the one I purchased as it is the best. This version has the chapter introductions and in-text notes, which a few of the others have left out. This is also the only one in which the notes and verse numbers are in a smaller font than the rest of the book, which makes it much more visually appealing and doesn't distract from the reading if you like to skip over the notes. Overall layout is much more clean and visually appealing than the others I sampled, and the navigation is the best. One may go back to the beginning of the book or to the table of contents from any page. Sample all the versions of this translation available on Nook and I think you will agree this one is the best. And get it while it's on sale for Christmas!

I noticed some missing information - Psalm 66 has only verse 1-8 - vs 9-20 are not there--perhaps because it's Douay-Rheims ??? Makes me wonder what else isn't there. I've bought two e-bibles each had the same missing information. I've downloaded 2 to review before I buy. Can't get to the table of contents to check out how interactive they are. I won't purchase them to find out either. It looks like I'd have to scroll through the chapters to finally find the verse I want to read. Very irritating as I wanted quick and easy when I don't have my hard copies with me. Since I have a color nook, I've decided to utilize the bible at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website. It takes more battery power, however, it's accurate and up-to-date.

Very easy to navigate through, much easier than paging through a paper Bible. It is a little slow when you make big jumps around in the book, but it is a very large book. It is the only nook Bible I own, so I don't know if others are faster.
