War is always bloody, brutal, and horror-filled.

In 1967, I shouldered a rifle and marched into harm's way. This war was all of the above but had an extra touch of madness.

My intention is to put the reader not just into the terror of jungle combat, but to get a very dramatic sense of that pressure cooker of the dark insanity that sucked at our souls (in an entertaining manner, of course).
