HE WON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER
Ten years ago, Julian seduced a voodoo queen. Then he ran. Both were unforgivable. Her farewell curse has plagued him ever since, and now the pirate captain has had enough. Ten years ago he ran from the future he saw with her, the love that had seemed like an unbreakable chain to hold him down. Now he's back, and that marriage is the only thing that can save him.
FOOL HER ONCE
Dominique is a voodoo queen respected by all, feared by some. Second only to the royal family in influence, she has worked her entire life to get where she is. The last thing she wants is for the man who'd shared her one wild night of youthful indiscretion to waltz off his ship and back into her life. Despite his devilish smile and proposal that's ten years too late, she's determined to send him on his way by any means necessary.
If only he weren't so terribly persistent.
If only the blue beard she'd cursed him with all those years ago didn't remind her of that night of passion.
If only he'd told her about the three dead wives buried on his land...

This series keeps getting better and better. I can"t wait to see what follows the next book ypu have out. I already have it and will start reading it today.
Jennifer Blackstream has done it again!!! Blue Voodoo is another wonderful twist on an old tale and the second book in the Hidden Kingdom series. I couldn’t put it down!!! Jennifer once again managed to provide the reader with just enough drama, hidden secrets, and misunderstandings to keep the you entertained as well as engaged throughout the story without becoming bored with excess information/events. Blue Voodoo will have you on the edge of your seat or sitting up in bed, wherever you prefer to read. You will feel the anger, hurt, sadness, love, and many other emotions from both Julian’s and Dominique’s (the Voodoo queen) point of view from the beginning of the story to the end. Blue Voodoo can be read as a stand alone book, NO CLIFF HANGERS :); however, I would HIGHLY recommend reading the first book in this series, All for A Rose. As well as the Blood Prince series beginning with Before Midnight. For me, reading those beforehand added just a little more magic. I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I received an ARC of this book with the request for an honest review. I can honestly say that once again Jennifer Blackstream has written a fast moving and entertaining story that I recommend to anyone who likes new twists on old tales. Dominique Laveau is the voodoo queen of the kingdom of Sanguennay. She funnels the power of the loa to serve the people of the kingdom. Julien Marcon is a pirate who 10 years ago wooed Dominque with promises of taking her away with him to live a life of the seas, spent one night in her bed and then disappeared. Dominque was so outraged that she flung a curse at Julien that turned his beard blue. That proved a major disadvantage to a pirate who desires his face to be unremarkable and therefore unmemorable. Julien decides he’s been punished enough so he sets out to get Dominique to lift the curse. In fact, he aims to marry her and, after a visit from a strange messenger, join a new kingdom being created by the five rulers in some of Blackstream’s previous books in this series. Dominque is not so easy to convince, however. Add in that Julien has some secrets he’s been keeping, coupled with a meddling man with an agenda of his own, and things get interesting very quickly. Blackstream always includes a healthy dose of angst and misunderstanding in her books that leads to the main characters being at odds with one another. She is masterful in expressing this through the dialog between Dominique and Julien. When trying to rid herself of Julien, Dominque says, “I will not give you one more second of my life. You do not deserve it.” Can’t be much clearer than that! She’s not one for cliffhangers, which I really appreciate, so the story draws to a satisfying conclusion by the book’s end. I do love Blackstream’s story telling and writing style. She runs you through a gauntlet of emotions and leaves you exhausted but satisfied in the end. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the series in order to get the full effect.
