A fast paced, nail biter of a story. Five years ago Valerie Parker and Alex DeMarco met at police academy. Valerie fell hard for Alex from the start. They spent one incredibly passionate night together, but the next morning Alex was gone. Then came the big blow; she was dismissed from police academy that day. Valerie despised Alex ever since, but she never forgot how he made her feel during the time they spent together. Now, Valerie is working as a private investigator and the woman Valerie is paid to watch is murdered and Alex is the prime suspect. Tensions rise as Alex and Valerie travel across Texas looking for the real murderer before someone else ends up dead. This is the second in the DeMarco Family series and just as good as the first. If the suspense and passion aren’t enough to pull you in, trying to figure out who the killer is definitely will. I enjoyed this book as much as the first and I will anxiously be waiting for the next one. Even though this is part of a series, there is no cliff hanger and each book can be read as a stand-alone.

I really enjoyed this second book in the DeMarco Family series. This is a re-release that seems to have been nicely updated and refreshed. This story has it all. Suspense, mystery, action, humor and romance all nicely blended together to give us a fun entertaining story. I loved that the traits that drove each other crazy where also the traits that they loved about each other. Alex is a by the book, plan everything out, control freak while Valerie is more of a fly by the seat of your pants, let's just get it done girl. Polar opposites but they balanced each other out. They keep each other in check while not letting anyone get to lost in their head. Working together to prove Alex's innocence shows them what a great team they make not only on the job but in life and love as well. A fabulous story I highly recommend.

Wild at Heart by Jane Graves, book two in The DeMarco Family series. The character development was perfect for the storyline. Great dialogue and characters. I look forward to the next book in this series and more by this author.

After I Got You, Babe this disappointed me some. While a good plot, I didn't feel the bonding between the two main characters that Jane created in I Got You, Babe.

If you enjoyed Jane's first single title, I Got You Babe, then are you in for a treat!!! This book is even better than the first as it takes you on a wild ride that promises sharp, witty dialogue, hair-raising plot twists and characters you won't want to say goodbye to! This book will definitely be on my 'keeper' bookshelf!!!

Hang on to your seat, you're in for one ferocious ride! Jane Graves' latest grabs you by the seat of the pants and doesn't let go. Wild at Heart tells the story of private investigator Valerie Parker, and cop Alex DeMarco. When Alex is framed for a murder (with Valerie being the witness who places him at the scene of the crime), he sets off to prove his innocence, with Val in tow. As they travel through Texas looking for the real killer, they find themselves in some hair-raising situations, along with a burning passion for each other. I'm not going to go into plot specifics, because in my opinion the book speaks for itself. (I will say, however, that I feel the previous reviewer's description doesn't do the book justice.) It's an action-packed thrill ride, and the romantic tension between Val and Alex is scorching hot. (Wild at Heart is the sequel to I Got You, Babe, which I highly recommend as well.) I couldn't put this book down. It's got everything I love in a story: fast-and-furious action, blazing hot passion, and tender romance. Kudos Jane!

In Tolosa, Texas game hunter Jack Reichert hires private investigator Valerie Parker to tail his younger spouse Shannon in order to learn what she does when he is away. Val follows Shannon to the Blue Onion where she makes a play for off duty police officer Alex DeMarco. Val wants nothing to do with Alex who five years ago was her instructor at the police academy. They made love and he flunked her the next morning. Alex reluctantly takes Shannon to her home when her key breaks in her car lock. Shannon insists there is an intruder in her house so he hesitantly checks. All this is a ploy so he starts to leave until he feels a sting and falls unconscious. When he awakens Shannon is dead and the evidence points to him killing her during rough sex with Val as a witness that he was at the crime scene.

Alex visits Val to find out what she knows. Someone takes a shot at Val slightly wounding her. As Alex and Val work together, they begin to fall in love but first must find the killer before she can understand what happened that night when all her dreams died.

Wild at Heart is an engaging romantic suspense novel that fans will enjoy as the male protagonist is set up to take the fall with his female counterpart as the prime witness against him. The story line is fast-paced, though the grudge adds unnecessary tension that takes away from the taut thriller. The lead couple is a delightful pair trying to solve a homicide while avoiding the passion of love.
