This is the last installment of the Black Knights series, and what better way to end it then with the telling of Jamin "Angel" Aggasi's story. The mystery man of the Black Knights. And up until now, we didn't know much about him. It was fun to read about how he became who he did and his reasons behind his decisions. We also get to meet his Sonja was the one that got away, or technically, the one Angel had to give up. Their story was painful and beautiful all at the same. I did love getting to see some of the other Knights from previous books as well, especially at the end!! That being said, I really enjoyed this book, I really couldn't put it down! I don't know if it was my favorite among the series though, but I loved it all the same. I'm sad to see the series go, but all good things, unfortunately must come to an end.

Built to Last is the final book in Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knights Inc. Series. I have read several of these books but not all of them. Consequently, they can be read as standalones. She always gives enough backstory throughout the book so you don’t feel like you missed that much. Built to Last focuses on the most mysterious and lethal member of Black Knights Inc. His name is Jamin “Angel” Agassi or at least that’s one of his names. Throughout the underworld, Angel is known as the Prince of Shadows and he is someone that everyone respects and fears. As with all of the other books, the main focus is about a romance between a BKI member and another unlikely love interest. This time, the sparks fly between Angel and Sonya Butler who is a former Interpol agent. Without giving too much away, let’s just say there is a possibility that these two have a connection that is much deeper than should be possible. More importantly, their physical connection will definitely burn through the pages. In addition, there is a good amount of action and espionage that is the cornerstone of each book as well. Needless to say, there is never a dull moment as you watch Angel and Sonya try to figure each other out while trying to stay one step ahead of a common enemy named Lord Grafton who has them both under his thumb. I really enjoyed Built to Last. There is a large cast of characters as other members of BKI make multiple appearances. There is plenty of action and adventure and the main plotline will keep you on the edge of your seat as you wonder when the biggest secret of all is finally revealed. This is a fitting end to the series and the best book of all of the ones I have read. Sadly, the big secret makes it very difficult for me to really discuss the book without spoiling it. Built to Last is a perfectly balanced book and I hope Julie Ann creates a similar series in the future. **Received a copy of the book from the publisher and reviewed voluntarily.**

Review: BUILT TO LAST (Black Knights Inc.) by Julie Ann Walker Publication Date: June 26, 2018 Genre: Romantic Suspense Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated: 4.5 Stars I was so looking forward to Angel’s story and am glad that it explained his past while forming his future. To do this, the book kept flashing back to his previous life, illustrating the impact on his and Sonya’s relationship. I’m not a big fan of the back and forth, so thankfully the story itself kept me enthralled. Sonya was someone I liked and could relate to. Her personality made the romance in an unheard of situation believable. Lots of action + smoking hot romance + close-knit friends = a good BKI story! Of course, all the people I’ve grown to love in the Black Knights world were involved in the usual mayhem, making me smile even when the tensions were high. I’m saddened to think this is the end of BKI, but excited for the hint of things to come. *Review copy provided by Sourcebooks in exchange for an honest review.

How do you say goodbye to a group that has been in your life for six years? I was so excited to finally get Angel’s book yet I was so sad that it was the last BKI book. I debated reading it as soon as it came out but I couldn’t bear to see it end. Sadly it has ended for me but what an ending. Holy cow it was great to see team members that we haven’t seen in awhile. I had missed Ghost and Rock but they were in the middle of all the action in this final book as they should be. I loved the mystery and intrigue that was Angel. When the truth came out it was both relieving and heart breaking. I think deep down Sonya knew but didn’t want to really know. She is a strong woman and she didn’t want history to repeat itself. It nearly broke her the first time and she couldn’t do it again. This book is definitely a must read. Having these operators in your lives will be entertaining, funny and at times frustrating. If you haven’t read the series I highly recommend you start at the beginning but it’s not necessary as these are all stand alone stories. The way Ms Walker ties things together yet leaves a dangling string is amazing. I’m looking forward to see if she revisits BKI in the future.

Sorry this is final book. Ok story but not as good as the first books in the series where there was more suspense and humor. Do think author is one of the best writers.

Built to Last – Julie Ann Walker – 5 Stars A terrific ending to a spectacular series that still serves as one of my favorites. The writer’s sense of humor shines through as always and her heart pounding action sequences leave you on the edge of your seat. Her heroes are sexy and her heroines compliment them well. She wrapped things up in a nice bow with giving us the HEA we all demand and clued us in on how everyone at BKI is now living their lives and what they want for their futures. She dropped a hint that there could possibly be a future with BKI, but whether that will be in other books remains to be seen. As a writer myself, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to beloved characters, especially ones you can’t seem to forget. The legacy she established is secured though and I hope to revisit these beloved heroes in future books.

I was wondering how long it would take before Angel got his story and it was worth the wait. I so love how he found his love of his life Sonya again but never knew how much it would mean to him. The both had to survive now to? It’s good read and a great ending for more then one Black Knight.

Great way to end a series (although sad it is ending). Angel has always been such an enigma and we got learn about him and his one love Sonya. I so enjoyed learning about their past but this book also brought back Ghost and the Rock and some of the BKI knights. This book is fast paced and hard to put down with all the action. I love how Ace does a recap of what all the Knights will be doing and the surprise ending. GREAT SERIES one I will reread now that I have all the books.

4.25 stars-edgy and intelligent series 4.25 stars-- BUILT TO LAST is the twelfth and final instalment in Julie Ann Walker’s contemporary, adult BLACK KNIGHTS INC romantic suspense /military, action series focusing on an elite group of ex Navy SEALS, FBI, CIA and military heroes headquartered and fronted by a custom motorcycle shop in Chicago known as Black Knights Inc. This is assassin Jamin ‘Angel’ Agassi, and thirty-two year old Interpol agent Sonya Butler’s story line. BUILT TO LAST can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in orders, especially the last few instalments, as there is an ongoing premise focusing on a terrorist known as ‘The Spider’. Told from several third person points of view including Angel and Sonya BUILT TO LAST follows the rekindling romance between Interpol agent Sonya Butler and assassin Jamin ‘Angel’ Agassi, a man who is familiar to our heroine yet not. Ten years earlier, Sonya Butler saw her lover murdered trying to take down a bomber, and in the ensuing time has continued to grieve and never moved on. Fast forward to present day wherein Sonya will come face to face with a man, although unrecognizable, reminds our heroine of the love she has lost. Enter Jamin ‘Angel’ Agassi, Sonya’s former lover, and the man that will once again, destroy her heart. What ensues is the (re)building relationship between Angel and Sonya, as our couple unknowingly work together to stop the man they have come to know as ‘The Spider’. Angel is an assassin, known as the Prince of Shadows, an assassin feared by all. Ten years under cover with an assumed identity finds Angel struggling to keep his secret from the woman he loves. Two weeks in her presence, and Angel battles both his attraction to, and the questionable circumstances under which, our heroine now finds herself working for the terrorist known as The Spider. Not only does Angel have secrets to hide but Sonya’s secrets are soon to be revealed. Throughout the last few instalments there has been a building relationship between Colby ‘Ace’ Ventura and Rusty Parker. Their ongoing attraction to one another is stifled by Rusty’s inability to come out of the proverbial closet, a closet hindered by his family’s deep –rooted religious beliefs. A life and death situation opens his heart such that Rusty must come clean to the people he loves. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples-some by cameo, updates or offhand mention. The author ‘introduces’ six new warriors who have been assigned to the BKI team-here’s hoping for a new spin-off. BUILT TO LAST is a story of betrayal and vengeance; family and forgiveness; love and a happily ever after. The premise is intriguing, action packed and entertaining; the romance is passionate and fated; the characters are dynamic and charismatic. Julie Ann Walker’s BLACK KNIGHTS INC is an edgy, sassy and intelligent series with lovable heroes, and brilliant heroines.

Phew--what a ride the final book in the Black Knights Inc. series takes us on! We finally get to know the mysterious Angel better, and the plot with bad guy extraordinaire Spider comes to a head. Angel's story is a second chance romance--Sonya's the woman he fell in love with before his extensive plastic surgery, before his vocal cords were altered, before he changed his identity--and the side he was on (or did he?)--multiple times. I wasn't a huge fan of the way he was determined for way too long that he'd never let Sonya know who he really was--honestly, dude, that's never a good idea, everyone knows that; plus it will never, ever work, geesh--though I guess I understand why he did it. Actually, no. Not the right choice, Angel. You had So. Many. Chances. Grrrr. Anyway... (On the whooo hooo! side of things, the Ace/Rusty storyline finally gets resolved too--yay! :) ) If you've read all the rest of the books in the series, there's no way you're going to want to miss this one. Even if every single series character doesn't show their face here, there is a wrap up at the end that lets readers know what their future plans are going to be. If you're new to the series, though, I really don't recommend starting here--at the very least, you'll want to read the last few that come before this one first. A standalone this book isn't--but a non-stop adrenaline ride for at least 80% of the book, it is. :) Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Built to Last is the final book in the Black Knights series. And it finished with a spectacular ending. As with all the books in this series, it was filled with action, adventure, humor, steamy scenes, and most importantly, hot alpha men. Angel has been a mystery since his introduction. Being able to really "meet" this character has been a long standing wish of mine. I was not disappointed. I refuse to put spoilers in my reviews so I will just leave it with.... you won't be disappointed with this story either.

RIP-ROARING, POPPING JAW, SACRIFICES, LOVE THESE MEN AND WOMEN STARS!!!!! I cannot say enough how I have loved this series. I love the men and women of Black Knights, Inc and it was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE to be immersed in their works, from Ghost to Angel, these men and women have taken me on an adventure filled with suspense, action, secrets, betrayals and most importantly love. In this story we finally, finally find out who is Angel, really? So many guesses and hints and all it takes is knowing that his past love may be in trouble and he answers the call. I loved that Angel and Sonya were able to be reunited. I only had 2 hang ups, and the first one was , that they finally catch the bad guy and it was anticlimactic like Ace stated. The other thing was that I really, really, really, wanted Ace and Rusty to have their own book, at least a novella, however Ms.Walker did do an excellent job with these two in this story...*cue the violin*** it was sweet between them! It was awesome that all the past characters were present and we got a future outlook of all couples and their children and how they will move on, from now. I'm so sorry to see this series end, but maybe, just maybe...there might be a new group in town, Lol. 4.5 heartwrenching, lovely stars!!!!

I loved the ending to the series, and Angel's story. I'm glad that we got to see Angel's past and why he changed his face. I'm sad to see this series end, as it is one of my favorites, but it was a great and satisfying ending.

If you have read any of the other books in this series, then like me, you have been waiting to hear more about Angel. And if you haven’t read any of the other books in the series, you won’t feel behind! Angel, with his mysterious voice, has been a character I have longed to know more about since he appeared in the series! In this book, you learn about his background and what lead to his extensive plastic surgery along with his background as an operator. This book picks up where the last left off (don’t worry if you’ve missed one, Ms. Walker fills in the blanks) with BKI’s search for the sadistic criminal kingpin “Spider.” Enter Sonya, someone Angel knew and was in love with before he “became” Angel. Angel is working undercover as a criminal who can get certain criminal materials for Spider. When he gets to meet with Spider he runs into Sonya. Sonya is “working” with Spider … but not willingly. As the story unveils, you are glued to your seat wondering if she is going to figure out who he is and if they are going to make it. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and couldn’t put it down! I must say I am sorry to see the end of this series, and I foresee myself re-reading the rest of the books, although I love the way Ms. Walker ended this story (no spoilers here though!). You do find out what will happen with the team members as this chapter of BKI closes its doors. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

First off I have to say I Loved “Built to Last” so much that I just couldn’t put it down once I started it. I went into reading this book with mixed feelings. I have read every one of Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knights Inc. series of books and loved them. I knew this was the last of this series and was sad to see the end of all my favorite characters. Would the author be able to do justice to the series? Well, I have to say that I think this is the best book of the series other than maybe the first book. From page one of the prelude to the end, it was filled with angst, true profound love, and just hang on to your seat action. You will not be able to put this book down. All my favorite characters showed up and everything came to a wonderful finish. I am a happy reader of the BKI series and would give it a lot more stars than is allowed. Thank you Julie Ann Walker.
