Overview

Pregnant with the Italian's child
Aristocratically arrogant Cesare di Mondave dazzled Carla Charteris when he swept into her life. It wasn't long before the brooding Italian stole her innocence - and her heart. Realising she'd never be more than a mistress was devastating, but Carla couldn't deny herself one last night in Cesare's arms...
When Cesare discovers the shocking consequences a thrill of possession runs through him. To claim his heir it's imperative that Carla accepts his proposal - but she defiantly refuses! Now Cesare must use every sinfully seductive skill he has to convince Carla he wants her in the bedroom and at the altar!

About the Author

Mills & Boon novels were Julia James’ first “grown up” books she read as a teenager, and she's been reading them ever since. She adores the Mediterranean and the English countryside in all its seasons, and is fascinated by all things historical, from castles to cottages. In between writing she enjoys walking, gardening, needlework and baking “extremely gooey chocolate cakes” and trying to stay fit! Julia lives in England with her family.

I couldn't stand reading about her and her mother for most of the book. I fet that she was hurt but what she did to her cousin was horrible and while she might have regretted it in the end, there was still a distaste regarfing her actions. Then her mother! After what her mother did to her nephew by marriage, she was rewarded in the end with social standing! One star for unlikeable characters.
