Carter (Riding Hard, #3) by Jennifer Ashley

Carter Sullivan, foster brother in the famous Campbell family, never had it easy. He was an abused kid, tortured by his mentor, in and out of juvenile detention until he was sent to the Circle C Ranch to be fostered. Life got better, but when Carter was eighteen, his ex-girlfriend pushed his baby daughter into his arms and took off, never to be seen again. Carter raised his daughter, Faith, on his own, with the help of the four wild Campbell brothers and his foster mom, the first person who ever believed in him.

Grace Malory always had a crush on Carter, the dark and damaged man who never quite fit in to the close community of Riverbend. When Carter's foster mom needs help running the domestic side of the ranch, Grace is ready to help out with all the cooking for the brothers and their growing families.

Carter's troubles rise again in the form of his dangerous ex-girlfriend, who returns to try to claim custody of Faith. Carter's greatest fear is losing his daughter, and he turns to Grace for help in a race against time and his past.

What a disappointment. Carter came across as weak, still living a pity party about his hard upbringing and making bad decisions. Grace and Faith were strong solid characters. Lizzie was a joke and I laughed out loud about the stupid endng. Don't waste your time and money.

Love the shifter series by this author but was very let down by this book. Seemed thrown together, disconnected and unrealistic...

Better than Grant's story. Adam's story is still the best.!

And who is Jack ? ..JOSS,...One of a few errors. The story was okay, not as good as the first two. Carter did not come on as a strong man until the event at the oil rig at the end of the book. 150 or so pages. Try do need to read the whole series to really enjoy it..

I thought it was pretty good , the daughter Faith did seem a little mature for her age . But I don't agree that the ending was bad , a nice change for a romance .. I would definitely look for Tyler story which is next .

## BAD. Don't waste your time with this drivel. Not to mention the three dollars. Not worth it. There was no chemistry at all between the hero and heroine. They could've been brother and sister. And there wasn't enough page time dedicated to their romance; over half the book was about the "bad guys". And don't even get me started on the daughter. No eight year old talks like that. I cannot recommend this book.
