About the Author

As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. JC is known for her bad-ass anti-heroes who lure unsuspecting readers into their dark stories and refuse to leave them alone-- even once their story is finished. JC is a San Francisco Bay Area native, but has also called both Texas and Louisiana home. She just recently ditched her flip flops for winter boots and now resides in Southwestern Illinois. When she's not torturing her characters for fun, JC drops the pen name and goes by Christina. JC is the author of the Bayonet Scars series-- about an outlaw motorcycle club that starts a war with the Italian mafia. Now that she’s retiring her bikers, she’s seriously pondering what’s next for the Mancuso crime family.

I loved the book, however when I got to one part, I cried through the rest.

I have loved this series, but feel somewhat cheated by this ending. First, it has already been said, but the main characters deserved more of a story. Second, they deserved a happy ending and not more angst. Third, the series deserved a more complete ending and this felt rushed. Maybe the details will come in the next series...too many loose ends in this one.

Since this book was the finale, I would have thought it'd be more complete. Obviously, there was no surprise as to how it ended, but the faithful readers of this series should have expected more. The love story that lasted 20 years, should have demanded more explanation. 150 pages plus all the epilogues, didn't do Ruby and Jim justice. THEY started the whole series, so why not give them more? It was good, cause I loved the characters, but could have been great!

Loved it!!! Cried my eyes out throughout more than half of the book. Didn't like what happened at the end....cried even harder.
