My Thoughts: When I heard there was going to be a third book in the Carolina Days series, I was so excited. I adored books one and two (The Other Side of Someday and Yesterday's Half Truths), so I couldn't wait to read book three. McKenzie and Mitch are sort of amazing together. Their relationship progresses in the best way, sweetly and realistically. They're not expecting this, but they embrace it for what it is, despite their own personal setbacks. I appreciated how both McKenzie and Mitch weren't portrayed as perfect--they had their flaws and they each were damaged in their own way, but they didn't let the past bring them down. They helped each other up, and that's pretty wonderful in itself. Chasing Daylight was an honest and romantic story. It was beautifully written, and Carey Heywood did an excellent job with all aspects of the story and the characters, including those of the four-legged kind. There were a few twists and turns near the end, but everything fit together. I couldn't have asked for anything more in a story and I'm so glad to have read the love story of McKenzie and Mitch. My Rating: Very Good
