Overview

A heartwarming Christmas story filled with the magic and miracles of the holiday season by USA Today Bestselling author, Nancy Naigle.

Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair.

When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.

While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance—that restoring the inn is what she's meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt—and the residents of Antler Creek—be able to show Liz that she's found a home? And possibly true love as well?

Such a wonderful holiday read. It definitely gave me all the feels. Liz and Matt are Hallmark-perfect for each other. It really put me in the mood to binge watch some Christmas movies. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

I love Nancy Naigle’s books, and I think this one may be my new favorite. Angels Rest would be a wonderful place in which to celebrate the Christmas season. My favorite part of the book is the way the townspeople worked together to help Liz restore her family’s lodge. Liz’s story was heart touching, and Matt was the perfect hero to make everything come together. This book highlights the theme of loving and helping those in need. This sweet, clean story with a touch of faith is the perfect book to read during the busy holiday season. One of the best Christmas themed books I’ve read this year. This one could easily be a Hallmark movie. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This book touched me in so many ways that I don't know where to begin, except to say that this book is a keeper and needs to be read over and over again. I smiled and cried and cheered and remembered a lot of my own childhood Christmas and how special different events were. Antler Creek and especially Angel's Rest have always held a very special place in Liz's heart and when she gets the chance to purchase Angel's Rest back, as it had once belonged to her grandparents, she jumps on it and buys it from an online auction. Unfortunately once she arrives, she discovers that previous owners basically destroyed the interior of the lodge. Fortunately she is put in touch with Matt who has fond memories of his own of Angel's Rest and Liz and Liz's grandparents. Matt and the residents of Antler's creek come together to help Liz make her dream come true of reopening the Lodge and the traditions that her grandparents had, especially the Christmas light display. Liz finds pieces of her grandmother's angel collection left in different places and takes those as a sign that she is doing the right thing, but then she accidentally breaks her ankle and she takes that as a sign that maybe she didn't make the right decision. It will take a lot of help from a lot of special "angels" including a very special dog named Elvis to help Matt show Liz that she is where she belongs. Read to see if Liz will come around and embrace her dream again also read to see just how many lives can be touched by the simplest things. This story reminded me that one can never know just how far reaching one act can travel. Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read an ARC of this book. The above is my honest and freely given opinion.

By now you have probably noticed that it’s basically Christmas in October on my blog right now. I think this is like the third or fourth holiday romance that I have had up for review or feature on my blog lately. I’m a sucker for holiday romances and I simply can’t pass one up! I love the cliche predictability that comes with a charming romance novel set against the holiday season. Nothing says cozy to me like a holiday romance. Which is exactly why I wanted to read this one. I read one of Nancy Naigle’s other holiday romance last year and loved it! She has written a couple of other series but Dear Santa was my first holiday romance by her and it was such a joy that reading this one was a no brainer! One of the things that I love about holiday romances is how quick I am read one! I love when I have a book that I can curl up with and immerse myself for a few hours on a lazy weekend and walk away feeling 100% satisfied and content when I am done reading. This one has a sweet romance, a little melodramatic but not irritatingly so. The hero, Matt, was such a swoon worthy romantic interest and he will be one that stands out for me in the sea of holiday romances that I have been reading lately. I thought Liz was a little impulsive but it was refreshing and I really liked exploring her character throughout this one. I especially loved that the setting was a bed and breakfast that needs renovating. For me it added so much charm—-loved loved loved that aspect! While this book was a pretty quick read (I read it in a couple of sittings in one day) there were parts that felt a little slow for me. Not painfully slow, or so slow that I felt like I needed to take a break, but there were times when I noticed that it lost some steam along the way. However it really picked up at for the last few chapters. I would have liked to have seen some of that momentum spread out a little more evenly though. If this book doesn’t get you in the holiday spirit, then I don’t know what will! Don’t miss it!

I have really grown to love Naigle's Christmas books, they always have that Hallmark movie, cozy, happy feeling. This might end up being my favorite holiday read of this year. I loved the slight twist to the classic tropes, instead of inheriting the family property she purchased after it had left family hands. I adored Matt, though I don't feel like I got the full story of his background, I kind of hope that we get another story involving him and his family. Of course, the small town community tops it all, there is nothing like a small community coming together to support one another or just for holiday celebrations! Definitely the warm, cozy, feel good story for the holiday season.

Liz Westmoreland and Matt Hardy were kids when they spent time at her grandparents’ inn. So many years later, Liz learns that the inn is up for auction, and she buys it. It was always her dream to own it and run it someday as her childhood memories kept that dream alive. However, never seeing it before buying it, she learns that it is in such disrepair. She hires Matt’s as her contractor, and he restores it to its former glory allowing her dreams to come true along with the Christmas traditions her grandparents instilled in her. As Liz’s dreams materialize, so are Matt’s as he realizes that Liz is what he’s been missing all his life. CHRISTMAS ANGELS is another warm, cozy and delightful romance novel which has all the feel-good emotions of love blooming and the glad-tidings of the Christmas season. Put those two together and you get a classic Nancy Naigle holiday novel which is very appealing and keeps readers coming back for more. I always look forward to reading her holiday novels and enjoy her books that are made into Hallmark movies.

Heartwarming book you'll be glad you read. Liz Westmoreland wears her heart on her sleeve when it concerns her grandparents inn. She carries a smile on her face and her heart in her pocket. She has such fond memories of their inn and her time there with them as a child before they sold it and moved away and she moved out of town. When she returns to town with her burning dream to purchase the inn she is dismayed to see it has fallen into disrepair. Matt Hardy had a childhood crush on her and gladly hires on as her contractor but is it a good idea? Is there a little Christmas magic sprinkled in among her grandmothers angels still on the property? Will Liz be able to stick with her plan of not dating those she works with? How will the towns folk react to Liz returning to the inn and remodeling it to reopen when they still remember her grandparents? Will they welcome her or snub her? The descriptions described in the book makes me want to find a quaint little inn and spend the winter there with the snow softly falling outside. Pub Date 15 Oct 2019 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from St. Martin's Press via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was almost like watching a Hallmark movie in book form. While I really enjoyed the story, it just didn't feel like a romance story to me until the very end. Liz Westmoreland discovers that her grandparent's inn, Angels Rest, is going to be auctioned off the next day. It has always been her dream to own it. She wins the inn and goes to Antler Creek to start the renovation process. She comes across Matt Hardy at the restaurant in town. He is drawn to her to the point that he suggests the ham sandwich for lunch as she is perplexed as to what to order for lunch. Matt submits a bid to be the contractor to help bring back the inn to life as the former owners gutted the interior into an art galley. I fell in love with quite a few characters (Krissy, Matt's sister and Grady, the sheriff) so I hope there are a few more stories in Antler Creek. This book is written in a dual POV format. With this, I could see Matt falling in love with Liz (he basically loved her when they were kids) but I couldn't feel it on Liz's part. She is going through so much on her own that it didn't come across for me. But like I mentioned earlier, it is a great story. This is a sweet, clean romance. If you like Hallmark movies, then you should read this book.

She always dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small town of Angels Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. Accidentally stumbling upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn, has Liz Westmoreland placing a bid and winning the property that she finds in significant disrepair. Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn so he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories. When angels start mysteriously showing up in all over the inn, Liz looks as reassurance that she’s doing what she’s meant to do, but an accident has feeling like she made a mistake. This wonderfully heartwarming and sweet romance is a perfect read to put any reader in the holiday spirit as the residents of a small town and a spunky canine work to show Liz that she has not only found a home but true love as well. The chemistry between Liz and Matt sizzles with lots of heat and the romance itself is powerfully sweet as the work on restoring the inn together and bring back the Christmas spirit that they both remember. Lots of emotions flowing from the pages ensure that the readers really get to know the characters and become caught up in their story. The plot is steady paced, informative and full of romance and holiday spirit of every flavor with lots of wonderful secondary characters supporting the hero and heroine in their endeavor and in a few ways that really share the special meaning of the holidays bringing warmth and melts even the coldest of hearts in this delightfully magical holiday romance.

Simply magically delightful! A young girl’s memories of happy times and love can become a reality once again as an adult when Fate, or perhaps a Christmas angel give Liz Westmoreland what she always dreamed of, a chance to own the inn her grandparents sold years before. For Liz, it could be a dream come true or her worst nightmare when the man next door steps in to save the day and hopefully rekindle his own childhood dreams. Nancy Naigle’s CHRISTMAS ANGELS is a heartwarming tale of finding what your heart truly wants in a small town with a huge heart! Kind of like a Hallmark card with chapters, this tale sparkles with the magic of the holiday season, fond memories and true love! Go ahead and relax into sweet romance while getting your secret holiday reading fix! I received a complimentary ARC edition from St. Martin's Griffin! This is my honest and voluntary review!

This book was just okay for me for several reasons. There was way too much repetition about Liz’s dreams and what Angel’s Rest meant to her, how much it meant to Matt and how happy the town was about the re-opening of Angel’s Rest B&B. The writing is good and Liz does have a pleasant personality as does Matt but without all that repetition there would have been plenty of time to create some much needed flirting and romance to the story while still keeping it PG rated. When I can’t see into a character’s heart I just can’t get into the story and I had to force myself to read it so I could write my review. I have read other books by this author and I have to say that this book pales in comparison. I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

3.5 stars I wasn't a huge fan of Christmas Angels. Don't get me wrong, I loved the romance part of it. Thought that was well written and sweet. It was just that I couldn't connect with Liz. I thought she was taking unnecessary risks on a place she hadn't seen in decades. I also thought the town rallying behind her (like their livelihood depended on her reopening the inn) was a bit much. But, I did enjoy where the book was set (an hour from where I live) and I loved that it was set between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a magical Christmas story. Liz Westmoreland has had a dream since she was a teenager and she has a chance to make it come true. She purchases her grandparents old lodge at auction in as-is condition. An art gallery had gutted the interior and made some unusual design choices that must now be undone. Liz wants to restore Angels Rest to its former glory and carry on the traditions started by her grandparents. Matt Hardy is an architect who lives on the land adjacent to Liz’s. He remembers Liz from when she visited her grandparents as a child. Matt is eager to help Liz with her renovations and get an opportunity to get to know her better. I found Christmas Angels to be well-written with fabulous characters. I found the interactions between Liz and Matt to be delightful. I just loved Maizey who provided good advice and delicious food as well as Krissy, Matt’s sister. Elvis was another great addition with his playful antics, unique grin and wiggling backside. I enjoyed the authors depictions which allowed me to visualize the story. There are tender scenes that just made me smile. There is an opportunity for a second book (hint, hint) featuring Matt’s sister who would like to open a shop in the town and the deputy who caught her eye. Christmas Angels is a heartwarming tale that that will linger with you long after you finish reading it.

Another fun Christmas story. I have read more than I can count and can still say I enjoyed this one. it's predictable, but they all are, right? Liz had a dream and she was not about to let anything stop her. I could see the characters in my mind and smell the scents..staging the scenes for another great Christmas movie. It had all the right elements, love, conflict, interest, intrigue, struggles with a bit of mystery. An all around feel good story that put me in the mood for snow, twinkling lights and hot chocolate. The dog almost steals the show, but the appearance of angels throughout the story made my insides warm and happy. I am so glad Liz took on the challenge of repairing her childhood happy place, took the risk and Matt, and took to the plunge to fall in love. You will not be disappointed. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All comments, thoughts, and opinions are my own.

The perfect heartwarming Christmas romance to read this season. Liz has always dreamed of owning her grandparent's inn and when it comes up on auction, she bids unseen and wins. Upon arrival she can not believe the condition of the inn. She soon makes friends with Matt, who also wanted the property but he offers his services to get the inn back up and running. Little did Liz know, Matt had a secret crush on her when she would come visit her grandparents. After Liz suffers an injury, Matt will gather the community in helping getting the inn ready for Christmas. This story will sure get you in the mood for Christmas season from homemade cookies, Christmas angels and all of the decorations. Loved the heartwarming romance that develops between Liz and Matt. This would be the perfect Hallmark movie!!

Nancy Naigle's Christmas Angels is a contemporary story set in the North Carolina mountains. When Liz Westmoreland stumbles upon a website auctioning off her grandparent's old inn she decides to bid on it site unseen. And to her surprise, she has the highest bid. Liz takes a leave of absence from her job and goes to Angel's Rest where the property is located. She is shocked at the condition of the property and can just imagine her friends telling her "I told you so." After the initial shock wears off she gets an estimate of the cost to renovate the inn. A contractor and neighbor Matt Hardy, who also bid on the property works with Liz and together they work to make the Inn livable. This is a feel-good book where dreams do come true. I recommend it to those who like contemporary fiction. chick lit and Christmas stories.

Christmas Angels is the story of Liz Westmoreland and Matt Hardy, two people looking for a chance to realize their dreams. When fate brings them together in Antlers Creek they’ll find out if dreams really do come true. Liz loved the area when her grandparents lived there and ran an inn. She would love to do the same and, at the same time, help to revitalize the community. Matt has the same intentions and will use his contractor and construction skills to make things happen. The two will have to dodge occasional bumps in the road but they also have a lot of fun getting to know each other along the way. This is a Christmas story with the theme of sharing one’s gifts being the best gift of all. Perfect for fans of Hallmark movies and all things Christmas.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle was a very sweet Christmas read. The story centers around Liz who purchases her grandparent's inn in Angel's Creek, in a fluke last-minute decision, in an auction and sight unseen. She finds the abandoned and empty inn a shell of what it formally was years ago when her grandparents owned it and she is determined to restore it in all its glory. Upon starting her renovations she enlists the help of Matt, a head contractor in town who quickly falls for Liz all over again as he remembers her from his childhood- though she does not recall him at all. When Liz is injured the fate on the future of the inn is left up to Matt and the townspeople. Very sweet story and perfect to curl up with on rainy (or snowy!) day. The relationship between Liz and Matt grew organically and the mention of prayers and angels are sprinkled throughout the book but not too heavy that it would turn off a non-religious reader. This story would make for a great Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas movie! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sweet, PG rated story that could easily be a Hallmark movie. Successful businesswoman Liz dreams of leaving her job and owning an inn just like the one her grandparents had while she was growing up. On a whim, she checks an auction website and finds the exact place up for sale the next day. She buys it and heads back to Antler Creek to check out the property and get it restored. Local good guy and handyman Matt becomes her contractor, and he remembers her and his crush from when they were kids. Lots of snow, Christmas decorations, kind townspeople, all the makings of a good holiday HEA. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Christmas books and I love Nancy Naigle and this one is extra special! It has everything you could want. A big goofy dog, his love hurt master, a beautiful stongheaded woman and a great small town! The perfect making for the best story! You will love it, thanks Nancy!

Yes…I am one of those people. One of those people that love Hallmark Christmas movies. And Christmas books. And just everything Christmas. I could watch the movies and read the books year-round and be perfectly happy. And one of my favorite Christmas book authors is Nancy Naigle. Her characters are usually not so full of themselves that they can’t grow and change. The small towns and the books’ worlds are described in enough detail that I can literally see it in my mind. And the stories are always heart-warming. Christmas Angels was definitely no exception! Matt is just one of those all-around great guys. Always willing to help a friend in need without complaint. And while Liz might be a city girl by this town’s standards, she’s also a part of its history and part of a beloved family to the townspeople. The fact that she’s back to restore the town’s beloved inn/B&B makes her even more accepted and loved in Antler Creek. NICUnurse’s Rating: I’m just corny enough that I could see each scene play out in my head, complete with Hallmark Christmas worthy music in the background. It’s a heartwarming story of finally following your dream and finding the man of your dreams in the process. If you don’t love Hallmark Christmas movies, this book might not be your cup of tea, but if you are like me and DO like them, this will be a book you do not want to miss, especially during the holiday season! I give Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle 4.5 stars!

Liz Westmoreland is an outstanding project manager for a large firm as she oversees and launches store openings for well-known chains. Having just completed a large opening, her boss encourages her to take some time off. As a child, Liz spent a lot of time with her grandparents who owned Angels Rest Inn in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her grandparents have both passed away and the inn has been sold. When she sees that it has come up for auction, she is determined to bid on it. She has worked hard and saved for years and is delighted when she wins the auction. It’s a few days before Thanksgiving and she asks her boss for extended time off to go and investigate how the inn looks now. Her dream has always been to own and operate her own bed and breakfast. When she arrives, she is saddened to see that the inside of the inn has been gutted to accommodate what was previously an art gallery. She meets Matt Hardy who is an architect and owns a place in Antler Creek. Liz asks for his help in determining what needs to be done to make the structure livable. He is happy to help. He helps lots of people in town and the townspeople are happy that Liz is there to fix up the inn because her grandparents and the inn were very popular. Work begins and lots of people pitch in to get it done. Everyone is happy to help and pretty soon, work inside the inn is being completed, and the biggest part is the displays, Christmas lights, and music her grandfather used to have every year has been resurrected. Liz and Matt love being together and his kindness toward her is growing into something more. Could Liz have found a new home and a life mate? A sweet novel about friends and neighbors helping each other and their shared joy of the Christmas season. Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Reading Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle was like reading a Hallmark movie rather than watching. This heartwarming Christmas story is filled with the joy, magic and miracles of the holiday season. Growing up, Liz Westmoreland was happiest when she spent time visiting her grandparents at their inn in a small mountain town. Since then, it has been her dream to run the inn and when she accidently encounters it for sale on an auction site grabs it, sight unseen. As one might expect, the property and buildings are not in the best of shape and in need of a lot of work to return the inn to its former glory. After losing the inn and the land that adjoins his, Matt Hardy is hoping that the new owner appreciates the place unlike the previous. Imagine his surprise when he recognizes his childhood crush as he jumps at the chance to restore and renovate the place that produced so many wonderful memories. While working on the repairs Liz and Matt encounter her grandmother’s collection of angels, in one of the cabins. As these angels start mysteriously appearing all over the inn, Liz looks at them as a sign; that restoring the inn is what she is meant to do. When an accident leaves Liz feeling that she made a mistake, it takes Matt and the residents of Antler Creek to show her that she not only found a home but also finally found true love. Ms. Naigle wrote a sweet love story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Liz and Matt a chance at happiness by creating a forever love. I highly recommend Christmas Angels to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
