What a great book. I loved it, a great Christmas love story with lots of love, cats, and hot chocolate. Can't wait to read the other books in this series.

Christmas in Destiny by Toni Blake is just what I needed in order to get into the holiday spirit. Well-written words, beautiful descriptions, and charming characters make this story, one to read over and over again! Shane is on his way to Miami. On the way, he takes his father’s advice and his last wish to heart and heads to Destiny where a blizzard is waiting for him. He seeks shelter at the nearest house, which happens to be occupied by Candice. Candice has been burned before and she knows Shane is trouble, but since he’s leaving anyway, what’s the worst that could happen if she indulges on him a little bit. Feelings start to grow and Shane starts to realize maybe Destiny isn’t so bad. Will Shane stay or will he continue on to Miami? The romance between the two is slow building, but totally satisfying. For readers who enjoy small town contemporary romances, this is definitely for you!

I have not read any of the previous stories in this series but that is not important at all to thoroughly enjoy this book. From the cat that our heroine, Candice, owns(a white cat that escapes in the middle of a snowstorm) to our reluctant hero, Shane, and all the characters from the town of Destiny, this story will get you in the holiday mood. When you are finished with the story, you are left feeling wonderful and full of hope. Excellent story.

Christmas in Destiny by Toni Blake is the 7th and latest book in the Destiny series. If you love the other Destiny books, you will also enjoy this book. If you love a holiday romance book to snuggle up with next to the fire then this is the book for you. Toni really helps you to connect with her characters in this book and the whole series. You will find yourself knowing all about the residents and town of Destiny. Their home, their fears, and their happiness really feels like your own. So much so, that they will feel like your book family. This is a fairly typical Toni Blake romance novel. Bad boy & good girl romance. Secrets and conflicts that they must overcome to have a happy ending. There is a bit of foreshadowing right away in the book. Which leaves the reader wanting to scream out to the characters in the book that you know the answers and can help them. However, you will want to keep reading to see how things work out for Candice & Shane. A few steamy love scenes but not enough to take away from the plot. All in all I loved this book. I would suggest reading the whole series if you haven't already. But if you're wanting a holiday romance to read right now, start with this one then follow up with the other Destiny books.

Return to Destiny Having read the previous books in Toni Blake’s Destiny series, I was looking forward to reading “Christmas in Destiny” to see who I’d get to know this visit. We meet Shane Dalton, a guy raised by his father, believed to be abandoned by his mother, and thinks he’s full of trouble more than he is of goodness. Before his father dies, he tells Shane to go to Destiny, which Shane decides to do while on his way to start a new life in Florida. Driving through during a snowstorm he crashes his truck and ends up on Candice Sheridan’s front porch. Candice has lived in Destiny her whole life, which means the town knows why she keeps to herself instead of taking part in the community. She is content with her solitary life just as Shane is in a hurry to figure out why his father sent him to Destiny so he can move on to Miami. But the folks in Destiny and the magical, hopeful time of Christmas have a way of bringing these two together. Enough so that Shane and Candice face their pasts and risk a future they never imagine for themselves. “Christmas in Destiny” has sleigh rides, a Christmas party, a wedding, and a lot of scenes that will reach in and squeeze your heart. It is sweet and sexy, warm and cozy, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself craving a mug of hot chocolate when reading this wonderful story. *I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Great addition to the Destiny series. Ms. Blake has a wonderful story. Candice and Shane have a great chemistry. Shane's dad sends him to Destiny to find something only Shane doesn't know what that is. Candice has been in solitude for the past few years due to a horrible ex that broke her heart and stole from her. Both are broken people that find comfort in each other. Can't wait for the next great book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It follows Shane Dalton and Candice Sheridan after they meet during a blizzard. Its a heartfelt story that somewhat reminded me of the premise of the old style Christmas movies. It started off a little slow for me (which was why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). They both share a harsh past and work their way towards each other that definitely makes you feel their love for each, along with their fears. I would definitely recommend it! I hadn't read the other books in this series until this one, I was slightly confused with some of the other characters in the book. I would recommend reading the other books in the series before starting this one. Definitely got me hooked on this series!

Shane Dalton is heading for Miami for a job offer and begin a new life, but he will make that pit stop in Destiny, Ohio to comply with his father’s last wish, but he has no idea what awaits him. However, a violent snow storm hits the small town, even this early in December, and Shane’s truck is damaged; frozen stiff, he knocks at the first door he sees. Candice Sheridan is brutally awakened in the middle of the night by a hot stranger, but he frightens her nonetheless. She lives alone, she won’t let Shane use her phone, and while they’re arguing, Candice’s cat Frosty escapes. Trying to find a white cat in a snowstorm is no easy task, but Shane succeeds, which doesn’t leave Candice much choice but to let him use the phone. Shane thinks Candice is cute, but they are extremely uncomfortable around each other, but Frosty, the traitor, likes Shane. While waiting for his truck to be repaired, Shane is offered a place to live in exchange for menial jobs; it’s only temporary until he makes it to his destination. But will it be Miami? And thus begins a wonderful Christmas story… Every chapter of CHRISTMAS IN DESTINY begins with a line from the classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”, which is Candice’s favourite Holiday movie, and while CHRISTMAS IN DESTINY is in some ways reminiscent of the Christmas classic, it is in no way a retelling. Candice has had her heart seriously broken, and she hasn’t really thought about doing anything about her semi-reclusive state. Shane, while being a total cynic and not really gregarious, goes with the flow as the kindness of the Destiny residents leaves him nonplussed; he has never been around people who were so accepting. Without saying any more, both Candice and Shane slowly come around, and what a marvellous story it is! While everybody expects the romance to happen, it is anything but predictable, and there are quite a few twists and turns. There are a few very pleasant surprises, one of which is a second romance, which is just fabulous as well. CHRISTMAS IN DESTINY is light and fun, but also quite intense and profound, but never coma-inducing; Ms. Blake knows precisely the dose of sweetness required to make the whole confection perfectly delectable. Ms. Blake captures the real meaning of Christmas while Shane and Candice let go of their fears and accept that they might have been wrong in choosing their respective paths. CHRISTMAS IN DESTINY is superbly written, the characters are all very well defined, and long-time readers of the series will catch up with old favourites, while newcomers will make endearing new friends; who could resist Grampy! While CHRISTMAS IN DESTINY is a real Christmas story, it is so wonderful that it would be a treat any time of the year! And don’t forget your cup of hot chocolate before you let Toni Blake take you away! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
