Another great book from Lynnette Eason. A CIA agent on the run with a brilliant autistic 6 year old; trying to escape from his murderous father returns to her hometown for hidden resources, and finds both help and love. Sam is a very smart boy who will capture your heart. Somehow I missed the book when it first came out. I'm glad I found it now.

Classified Christmas Mission by Lynette Eason is part of the Wranglers Corner series. Although the book can be read alone, I highly recommend that you read them in order to get the full impact of the characters. For those of us that have been following the series we were starting to wonder if Amber really was a travel writer. Well she isn’t; she works for the CIA. She has been undercover and her best friend has been killed. She now has custody of her friend’s autistic son, Sam. Sam adds an element to the story that is unique. Sam’s father has found out that she was not really the nanny but a CIA agent undercover working with his wife to bring him to justice. He is now trying to kill her and get to Sam. Deputy Lance was her childhood crush and friends with her older brothers. He never saw her as anything other than a kid sister until now. Watching him see her in a new light was fascinating. Lance is trying to protect her. Both of them are put to the test with all the man power Sam’s dad has at his disposal. The book is full of action in an environment full of cold weather hurdles. There is shooting, kidnapping, and a virus I received this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. This book is by one of my favorite authors, and she does not disappoint, from the first page forward we are waiting for another shoe to drop. We have a man so evil, he wants to kill his autistic six year old, after he has already murdered his wife. While Sam might have his disabilities, he sure is a delight, and made me want to be around him, but will Amber’s family and friends be able to accept and feel the same? The bigger issue is will they all survive, and why is this happening. Love the place we are taken to to hunker down, I want that cave. The ranch also sounder wonderful, but what will be left of these places, and who can be trusted. Yes, someone is after them and while we know who one is, who are the others and why? The answers are here, and you will have to read this page-turner for all the answers. I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Love Inspired, and was not required to give a positive review.

A non-stop thrill ride to save their lives when a CIA agent's cover is blown, the life of a special needs child in her protection is in danger from his father, and the only place to go is back home. This was a gripping tale with the constant fear filled action and twists in the plot. The tension is high, and with the blown undercover identity Amber has no idea who she can trust from her agency. The only people she can rely on are family and people back home, but bringing danger to their doorsteps could have unthinkable consequences. The suspense and action were well built, the intensity is high, and the spins in the plot keeps the fervor and energy soaring. Sam, the special needs child who's father wants him dead, has autism, and he sees life, relates to it, as numbers. I really loved that part, number geek as I am, I even understood some of his thought process with them. I do not know that much about autism, but how it was described felt real, authentic, and credible. His relationship to Amber was touching, and later on with Lance so natural. Amber and Lance have both struggled with their faith. Now faced with not only with each other again, but with life and death situation, and keeping Sam alive, the basic questions about life, faith, and future are in their minds. I loved it when Amber told Lance that she felt guilty about being angry with God, Lance answered to her that God is big enough to deal with our anger. Their conversations about faith in God were comforting and encouraging, giving hope and light in the dire situation they were in and relatable to real life issues, as well. Enthralling action and suspense, a shy and sweet growing romance between childhood friends, a destiny of a little boy that is sure to touch hearts of the readers in addition to encouraging and inspiring growth in faith and conversations about God, made a compelling tale, a story that was hard to put down ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side
