What People are Saying About This

Kent Stephens

The library at the College Football Hall of Fame has at least three shelves of Rockne books. If I ever needed to clear space, I think I found the book that would supplant all of them. Rockne is one of this nation's greatest, most inspiring and yet tragic sport stories. Jim Lefebvre has thoroughly researched and written the definitive piece on this American hero. --Kent Stephens, Curator, College Football Hall of Fame

Michael R. Steele

In the history of college football, Knute Rockne was a towering figure, at a time when the game grabbed the attention of the sporting public, never to let go. Coach For A Nation places Rockne in a rich, historical context that makes for a compelling story. --Prof. Michael R. Steele, Pacific University, college football historian - Author, The Notre Dame Football Encyclopedia
