This book is for anyone who is single or in a relationship, man or woman. The author, who is obviously an expert in her field, entertains the reader with her many stories and insight. As a single dad new to the online dating world I look forward to correcting some of the mistakes I have made in recent months and put into place the guidance this book offers. The pictures inside the book are a great addition. I do wish this book was offered with colored photos.

This self-help book is about life. It gives advice on how holidays like valentine’s day. How to void bad dates, how to get good dates. Mother’s Day: have a budget and don’t live in the past. She covers just about every holiday with tips on how to make it through. She tackles things like the media, how to handle it, how to not let it affect you and what to watch for. Some things can come off as very feminist, almost in man-hating way but it doesn’t bash men. Her female empowerment section could have just been empowerment talking about following your dreams, helping with body image and self-esteem which is something all of us suffer from at one point or another. Another section she has is 5 reasons men desire divorce. I think this was supposed to give tips to women, basically what to watch for and how can we prevent our men from wanting this. It easily could have been just about divorce from both sides. The biggest thing I took from this book, the message I really liked was Embrace the Crazy, embrace yourself. Be you and Be Fearless.

Coaching from a Professed Hot Mess by Brooke Lewis is a coaching, encouraging book that does one of the things that many books aren't doing it doesn't teach readers to become perfect, to outperform themselves. It teaches authenticity. And that is what makes it unique. Unlike many books that teach readers to develop new habits and follow specific paths to reach success in any area of life, this book teaches a new science called awareness and it encourages readers to embrace who they are, because even their weaknesses are part of the elements that make up who they are. In this beautiful book readers will discover the secret to inner freedom and happiness that secret comes from a Certified Life Coach, and expert in love and an actress. The secret is embracing who we are. You don't have to be what society wants you to become so you can become happy. You just need to be you. Brooke Lewis writing and coaching tips will empower peoples of all walks of life and encourage them to face life with more confidence and trust. It contained the message I badly needed at this time.

HOT MESS HOTNESS As a divorced, single woman, I could not have picked up this book at a more perfect time in my life's journey. I needed these tips and reminders more than I realized. I love how the author calls it her "bedside table book", because that is where my copy now rests. For my days when I feel like a failure as a woman or mom and for other days when I need a pick me up after stepping on the scale, I just refer to my bedside table book of motivational tips and seem to fell a bit better. I also love how the author lets us know how insecure she is at times and how she second guesses herself, even being a beautiful public person in Hollywood. She makes me feel more sane embracing my flaws. I agree we should stop chasing "perfection" because it really does get quite tiring. I cannot wait to read this book again over the Christmas holiday.

Coaching From A Professed Hot Mess by Brooke Lewis was an amazing read! My favorite line in the whole book is "Stop chasing perfection"! How simple and powerful is that statement? I loved reading this book. I know I suffer from low self esteem, comparing myself to others, etc. This book will pull you out of that! We all go through it at some time or another in our lives. Even if you are just having a bad day, keep this book near! It will enlighten you. READ THIS BOOK! Honestly, I think they should put this on the list of books to read in high schools across the world! I think it would help everyone. Hopefully you will do some deep soul searching of your own after reading this, I know I did! I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could! I think it takes a lot of courage for someone, especially in the lime light and living in Los Angeles to come out and say the things she is saying in this book! I say "way to go"! Thank you!

I was not overly fond of this book. Professed hot mess Ms. Lewis opened her book with dating ideas. Something irrelevant to my life but interesting none the less. She is very honest that she herself is the hot mess and coaches from that perspective. She goes on to explain her ideas on how to be accepting yourself, but often through the perspective of needing a significant other. While I agree that having a significant other can be fun, I felt that there was to much emphasis placed on this, and it was hard to get past her focus on this. I did enjoy how she spoke of being true to yourself especially if you exist in the LGBT community. As I fall under that acronym I know how hard it can be to be true to yourself when others are saying who you are is wrong. I love that she gives encouragement to this grouping in particular. I would recommend this book to those who enjoy playing the dating field but not so much to those who are not interested or have passed that part of their life.

I love the title and cover of this book and that is what attracted me to it initially and encouraged me to buy it. I appreciate the candid humour that the title suggests, and I liked the idea that I was going to read a self-help book from somebody who doesn’t shy away from admitting that they are not perfect and have actually been through many or all of the issues modern women might be struggling with. From the first page I was glad to have bought this book, and the voice of the author really came through. I loved that from the onset of the novel the author writes about her experience, that she gives off an air of being unabashedly self-deprecating, and that the opening chapter had such a sense of humour about it. I instantly felt drawn into the book, and felt like this could be someone that I could take constructive advice from, because they themselves have worked through many of the same issues other women are struggling with. The writing style throughout the entire book is very engaging, natural and easy to read, and above all there is a constant sense of honesty and candid humour which lightens the more serious issues that the book talks about. I also really appreciate that the book is well-written, thoughtful, well edited and polished. I definitely recommend this book to all modern women out there who want an honest, insightful guide on how to improve one’s approach to life.
