What a brilliant book -if you like mysteries and thrillers this is a must read book! It is well crafted with lots of twists and turns from the very first chapter onwards. Don't be put off by the cover - this is no sexy romance! The story concerns a happily married couple, Lizzie and Zack Weston, and opens when Zack is preparing for a romantic evening with his wife only for him to be kidnapped together with their baby son, Daniel. Lizzie doesn't believe the insinuations that Zack has run off with $1 million from the security firm he owns. Lizzie is determined and desperate to find her husband and son, actually putting herself into great danger in the process. The plot has a strong male character who epitomises evil intent, determined to manipulate others - using force, drugs or whatever is necessary - to achieve his goals. It is against this man - and the results of his actions - that Lizzie and Zach will have to work if their love is survive and their family have a future together - but that's enough spoilers for now.... The storyline is brilliantly constructed, the characters portrayed in believable ways that take the reader with them on this desperate adventure. At times you think, "Phew, it'll be okay now . . . " and then watch out - the next calamity or dilemma has you worrying again! This is a real page-turner that tempts you to keep reading, even when you should be doing something else! I really enjoyed this book and will certainly be looking out for other books by this author. Many thanks to the author and publishers for enabling me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, my honest review.

This romantic suspense novel from Cathy Marlowe starts off with a bang. Zach Weston and his infant son Daniel are kidnapped from their own home. A dear john note to his wife and a withdrawal of $1M from his business account make it appear he abandoned his life. His wife Lizzie isn't having any of it. Although she knows Zach carries secrets about his past, she doesn't believe he would ever voluntarily leave her and their daughter Sam. As she desperately searches for any lead, Zach wakes from a drugged stupor with no memory of his life. He only knows what he is now told, that he's the heir to a powerful company and he works with his father. It all feels odd to him and even though he has no distinct memories, he is immediately on edge in his surroundings and distrusts his overbearing, authoritative father. Initial setup is well done and exciting. I was immediately pulled into the story by the strong characterizations and fast-paced plot. Sinister, shocking manipulations reunite Lizzie with Zach, but with no memory, he doesn't know her or trust her. He is drawn to her, but isn't sure why. This section is quite moving, as both characters are held hostage in different ways. Lizzie does what she must to survive and protect Zach and Daniel. She hopes that somewhere in his mind, he will remember her. Both Lizzie and Zach are well-written and sympathetic characters in a very frustrating situation. About 2/3 in, their circumstances change again, and this is where the story unravels for me. The plot becomes jumbled and takes little jumps without explanation or transition. Zach makes decisions/actions that don't jive with his memory loss. I found myself flipping back to see if I missed something, but no. A few added twists near the end fell flat for me, felt forced into the story with no logical setup. What started out so strong plot-wise ended with a whimper and I was unsatisfied. I also don't understand the title and how it fits the story. Romantic elements are present, as the lead characters are married and are believable in their love and caring for each other, but it's all very tame. No sex. The idea is that their love transcends the memory loss, which plays out with some success. Overall, a strong start and strong characters but ultimately derailed by muddled plotting. I would however give this author another shot. ARC kindly provided by Entangled Publishing.

Loved this book. Lizzie comes home and her family is gone. Zach is taken and his mind is completely wiped out. He awakes and is told he has a son, and his long lost father takes him home. The problem is he has flash backs that are making no sense. A new nanny comes in to take care of his son and she seems to look after the baby a bit to much like he was her own. Lizzie is scared to death that she is going to do something wrong that will end up with her killed, or worse her daughter. She makes a last ditch effort to try to get through to Zach but has to give up and make the right decision to save her daughter. Great book. The author keeps you guessing about what is next and will Zach get away with his son and regain his memory. Loved this book.

Zach Weston has disappeared with his infant son, Daniel. Everyone thinks he willingly left Lizzie and her daughter, Sam. Lizzie knows that thus isn't true. She has faith in Zach. She won't give up until she find him. What will the madman playing with their lives do to stop her? This story will take your breath away. It's a roller coaster ride filled with suspense and unexpected twists and turns. Lizzie is a feisty, passionate woman who is determined to find her missing husband and son. Zach's memory is gone, but when he meets Lizzie he is drawn to her. This love won't be banished. I was drawn into this story by the wonderful characters. They were so special, but their nemesis is determined. His evil has a powerful intensity that left me shaken. I couldn't put this book down. It's that good. Cathy Marlowe has done a wonderful job. Comes The Night is a keeper.

Holy cow. What a ride! From beginning to end, this is a fast paced story about a family cruelly torn apart and thankfully brought back together. But what they went through to get back together... No family should ever have to go through that. Taken from his home with his baby son by a deranged man who claimed to be his father and drugged, Zach wakes up in an unfamiliar place unsure of how he got there or why he is there. What he knows is the baby in the nursery is his, and the woman hired to care for his son is strangely familiar. But how is that possible when he can't remember anything about himself? That strangely familiar woman is his wife Lizzie, except he knows her as Maggie. Lizzie is there to care for their son and to keep her other daughter safe. Finding out Zach has no recollection of her is heartbreaking, but she's in no position to tell him the truth. It was hard to watch Zach and Lizzie start again. The uncertainty of what they had before and if he would ever remember any of that left them walking on eggshells, tiptoeing around their feelings, finding it hard to say what was on their hearts and minds. Lizzie sacrificed so much to save her family. When he was back on familiar ground and away from the man who took him, Zach did what he had to do to ensure his family's safety. In a way, this was a second chance romance. Zach hadn't been honest with Lizzie before he was taken, and having her see the life he'd come from the way she did wasn't ideal but it left nothing in the dark for her anymore. Their chance to start again, to build new memories while hoping old ones returned, was what they needed after the madness they'd survived. I loved Ms. Marlowe's first book [book:Lie by Night|20944633], I'm equally in love with Comes the Night , and I can't wait for what comes next in this series. ***Received from Entangled Publishing for an honest review***

With the gripping beginning of Comes the Night by Cathy Marlowe, I was reeled into the story from page one. Zach and Daniel, Lizzy’s husband and son, were abducted by a madman and Lizzy had no idea why or by whom. In addition to what happened to her family questions arose regarding Zach’s past. Overall, this was one suspenseful story that kept me super-glued to the pages. It’s just one of those captivating books. And once you pick it up, you won’t want to put it down. Rating 4.5/5 I received an e-arc of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. It was action packed the whole way through. I went through a lot of emotions reading this book...anger, sadness, vengeance, relief, sentimental, and happy. The trials Lizzie and Zach went through were tremendous and heartbreaking. The story had me thinking, "what next, what else will they struggle with?" And then on to, " how will this work out?" The end of the conflict was good, not rushed and very realistic. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
