He's too close, and I start to fidget, needing to keep my hands busy so they won't grab hold of his shirt. Because that's what they want to do. Draw him closer. So I can Inhale his scent. Taste his skin.
I didn't run because I was in an abusive relationship; I ran because my soul was being crushed. I'd forgotten how to live, how to be happy. Running out of gas in a small town, I catch the eye of the local sheriff when the very last thing I want is to come under the scrutiny of the police. I left my boyfriend with blood on my hands, and I know as soon as the wound heals he'll come looking for me.
Adam Madison draws me to him so easily I can't even pretend to fight. And the closer we get, the more combustible we become. I've never experienced such passion or power. My need is as great as his, but I'm sure he'll walk away from me once he knows my secret. No other man would stay.
I've had enough complications in my life. I'm not looking for more, and that's exactly what Adam is-a sexy, magnetic complication with secrets of his own. And with my ex on the hunt, I can't risk bringing him down with me. But he won't leave...even when vengeance could kill us both.

About the Author
I finally started writing fantasy romances about wizards and witches, and once those caught on, I segued to paranormal romances (hello, vampires and ghosts) and romantic suspense. I mainly write in those genres now, but I have branched out, just recently, into zombie romance and young adult. (Sometimes, the muse really is weird.)
I also write articles for various magazines, including The Writer's Journal, Writer's Magazine, Writer's Weekly, Writing for Dollars, Absolute Write, and Funds for Writers.
I'm fortunate to make my home in historical Charleston, South Carolina where I just bought my first house. Beautiful city. Beautiful people. My cat, Temperance, is my roommate...or mortgage holder, depending upon who you ask.
When I'm not writing, I love to read paranormal romance, romantic suspense, and young adult, create videos, shop, put together jigsaw puzzles, cross-stitch, and drink lots of coffee.

When love strikes nothing can hold it back. First novel I have read by this author, but I'm looking forward to discovering more. I stayed up all night reading this contemporary novel Connecting Strangers and I immensely loved it. Main characters Adam and Emily both have haunting secrets from the past. Emily is running and Adam well, dealing with it. “Because I can’t think when you’re this close.” I can’t think when he’s in the same room. Or the same building.” "He’s washing away all of my inhibitions, my doubts. I know I’ll stay. Because he wants me to.” “I hold on to him like he’s my lifeline amidst a swirl of rushing water. Maybe he is. Whatever has brought us together, I won’t question it. Not tonight. And maybe not even tomorrow. However long I have with Adam, I’m going to enjoy.” " Being with him is like waking up in a new world. Everything is fresh and new, and there are no mistakes or regrets. There’s just now, and it’s perfect.” I give it a 5***** star review. It was fast paced, suspenseful, and the storyline connected with the characters perfectly from beginning to the end of novel. Wow! It didn't contain any intense sex scenes which I am used to reading, but I love those sexy books. This was something new and fresh. Beyond a well-developed plot it's appealing, prudently arranged and well-written novel. Honestly, a beautiful heartfelt story.. Awesome start to a series! Emily runs away after she shoots her way out of an abusive relationship. Her ex has told her that she would always be his. But with no money and almost no gas, she ends up in Juniper Springs. She meets the local sheriff, Adam and is immediately drawn to him. She tries to deny her feelings toward him and not tell him of her past. Unfortunately, ones past seems to always catch up with you. She meets Francine who seems to understand exactly were she had come from without Emily even telling her anything. When the sheriff from her hometown comes to arrest her for shooting her ex, will Adam stand by her or uphold the law and send her back? Can't wait for the next book!
