Cormac by Kathi S. Barton

Cormac Harrison, Mac to his family and friends, has a good thing going. He has a brand new home, a successful business, and is truly happy with the direction his life is heading.

Andi Collins can't seem to catch a break. The last time she'd encountered her father, she'd ended up in the hospital. Now, Stormy Harrison, is giving her a break and helping her get back on her feet. So when this big handsome man tells her that she's his mate she's scared to death.

Mate. She'd heard the term before. And what it meant. She would belong to him. Not just him, but whoever he wanted to sell her to. Andi reached for the door handle, thinking that rolling from a moving car would be better than being passed around like a napkin at a banquet hall.

"Don't do that." He reached for her hand just as she touched the handle. "Please, just listen to me and I'll explain."

"I don't need you to explain. I know what mate means. My friends at school, they told me what happens when you become a mate to men. And what they didn't tell me, my father and aunt explained the rest. Mates use you, and then when they've had enough, they pass you around to all the other men they know. I won't have it."

The car suddenly stopped. Her seatbelt cut into her neck, and she nearly hit her head on the dash it stopped so abruptly.

Got hooked in the first and can't wait for the 3rd one. Love how the last few pages lead you into the next book, but am now really impatient for the next one to be released.

Cormac "Mac" Harrison is happy with his life. He doesn't think anything is missing until he catches a whiff of lunch coming from the kitchen. When he sees who has done the cooking, his tiger takes notice of Andi Collins, and that is all she wrote as they say. He falls, hard, for this young, beaten down woman. Of course he comes on too strong and scares the heck out of her which leads Stormy to tell him she will shoot off one of his appendages if he doesn't back off. Needless to say, lunch is an interesting affair. As shifters do, his protective instincts go off the charts when her brother shows up wanting to bring her home. As for Andi, once she learns the true behaviors of a shifter with their mate, she falls head over heels for the big guy. I think my favorite thing about this story was the closing of the full circle in the restaurant with the homeless veterans. This is a very real problem in our society these days and it is a reality that should not happen. Even though this is a work of fiction, there are the undertones of fact. I appreciate the author for including this in her story. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

well at least Mac acted a little better then Riordan did when he met his mate. Andi had had a tough life, abused and mistreated she just wants to be away from her family. Storm saved her and brought her to work in her shop and promised to keep her safe. However, things never go as planned and when she meets Mac he sweeps her off her feet. This was a great storyline, engaging, fast paced, exciting and full of surprises. Andi needs protecting and Mac needs to protect. Neither was looking for a mate but fate has her own plans and will not be denied. I have to say that Andi's family is seriously messed up and I can't believe the crap they kept spitting out and on top of that they did not understand why no one jumped to do what they said. It is amazing she turned out so normal based on her childhood. Mac and his family are just what she needs to show her the true meaning of love and to protect her from her crazy family. I enjoyed getting to know both characters and thought Ms. Barton handled a hard and serious subject with compassion. I was given an ARC for an honest review

Cormac or "Mac" as he likes to be called is set and happy with the way his life is. He is successful in his business and the way everything is going in his life. Andi is having a rough time - her dad beat her and she ended up in the hospital. She meets Stormy Harrison and he is gonna help her. When she meets Mac and he tells her she is his mate she tries to run because what she has heard about mates scares her to death and she wants nothing to do with it. Can Mac convince her that she has it all wrong and she stay with him? This is a definite must read new series by Kathi S. Barton and would recommend to everyone.
