Following in her father's footsteps, Evie Bodham spends most of her time in the lab at the University of Chicago, trying to decipher an encrypted codex inside a rare crystal. That is until her life is threatened outside a local bar on a rare night out. The last thing she expects to find is a mysterious bodyguard keeping a close eye on her. It isn't long before she learns that all she thought she knew about the world around her is nothing but an illusion. Loud-mouthed and unorthodox by the League of Guardians' standards, resident bad boy Roc has no problem telling any of the others where they can shove their opinions.
