Danielle Walker's latest cookbook is full of healthy, delicious "comfort foods" made paleo, gluten-free, grain-free, and crap-free! From savory to sweet, there is a ton of mouth-watering recipes that taste just like the "original"- but without the inflammatory effects of foods I'm sensitive to. Anyone can make and eat this food, even those without allergies or sensitivities. I love how the recipes can easily be tweaked to whatever you have on hand (e.g., subbing broccoli for Brussel sprouts in a sheet pan dinner) and the tidbits help make your cooking even better. As a volunteer recipe tester, I received an advanced, complimentary copy of this book. I'm so glad I did because everything I made has been healthy and delicious! The sheet pan teriyaki salmon and chocolate zucchini protein muffins are my favorites and have become staples in my meal rotation. I can't wait to make other delectable foods- toaster pastries, pizza pockets, and donuts... to name a few :) The picture glossary at the end is really helpful when planning what to make. The main downside is that some of the recipes require many steps and are time-consuming. This is to be expected when recreating standard American foods using gluten-free, paleo ingredients. So, plan to allocate more time or do advance prep work (another bonus is that the book offers make-ahead tips). Also, the treats have quite a bit of sugar. I'm watching my sugar intake and find that cutting the sweetener amount of by half still results in a delicious treat. Finally, there aren't any calorie counts or macros listed, which is a bummer since I'm a competitive athlete attuned to my diet. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this cookbook!!! Danielle Walker makes living a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet so much easier and now we can do it with "comfort foods".

Where do I begin with this book?? Danielle Walker has done it again. Upon picking up the book, I was blown away by how gorgeous it was. Then I opened it. Beautiful photos accompany each section and recipe. The book lays flat, which is SO convenient while cooking, and has a beautiful ribbon bookmark. Ok, great, it’s pretty, but content matters when you’re cooking., right? Especially when you’re cooking Paleo recipes, which I feel are notorious for being too complicated, and not worth the effort in the end. None of that here!! I don’t know if I’m more amazed by how easily most of the recipes come together, or how AMAZING they taste. They run the spectrum from incredible chocolate glazed donuts (yes, donuts… and even my non-Paleo friends were raving), to CRISPY waffles (mind blown, tummy happy), to cheese crackers. Yes, easy to make, delicious, crunchy, Paleo (non-dairy or dairy options) cheese crackers. However, what made this book for me is that Eat What You Love truly gave me the opportunity to once again eat something I love. I have countless family recipes the call for Cream of Mushroom soup. Countless memories of meals with my mom that I could never properly recreate once I was forced to go gluten free. When I saw the recipe for Cream of Mushroom soup, I almost fell out of my chair. When I made it? Heaven. The flavor and consistency are SPOT ON. Family classics are back. I’ve told several people that the book is worth the purchase price for that recipe alone. All the other amazing recipes? Added bonuses! If you are gluten free, dairy free, nut free, Paleo… get this book. As a busy working mom, my time is extremely limited, however, I still value cooking nourishing food for my family. Danielle Walker 100% gets it as a busy working mom of three herself, and I feel like her latest cookbook was truly a labor of love to us all! In this cookbook, she recreates our classic comfort food favorites while leaving out grains, gluten, and dairy (and I promise you that those things will not be missed!) The recipes I have cooked so far have been met with such rave reviews from my family that I am deeming this my favorite cookbook to date from Danielle Walker. Our favorites have included Millionaire’s Bacon, Teriyaki Salmon, Butter Chicken, and the Mint Slims—which I’ve embarrassingly already made twice in a two week time frame. They are SO GOOD! While I received a complimentary copy of this cookbook early, I have still preordered several to give as Christmas presents. I know this will be a go to for years to come. I strongly recommend you order this book now! On a side note, not only are the recipes fantastic, but the photography is insanely beautiful. Each recipe is photographed and it truly is a joy to thumb through. I actually enjoy meal planning because I get to look through my pretty cookbook!

Danielle's reputation precedes her, and this book is notably filled with very delicious recipes (grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free). I did feel that some of these recipes are a little simple for her reputation. Things like tomato soup or banana bread, then making French toast with that banana bread; simple and available nearly anywhere on the web. Some of the dinner recipes are as simple as honey mustard salmon and sheet pan fajitas; these belong in a blog post, not a (list price $35) cookbook. The recipes are very tasty, it's just that some are very simple. I've been cooking for many years and enjoy it tremendously. Cookbooks are to bring something new to the mix, not standard home-cook that are super easy to make allergen free (such as the entrees mentioned above) to begin with. Anyone who struggles in the kitchen or is new to this type of allergen-free/paleo cooking will get much use of and enjoy this book very much. But if you're a seasoned home cook, give it as a gift. Danielle's efforts are of merit, but this is more for the cook that needs super simple things.

As a person with food allergies and a mother of children with food allergies, this book is a Godsend! My family has wheat allergies, and corn, oat, and dairy intolerance, so paleo is the easiest and safest solution for us. Danielle Walker's cookbooks are all paleo, grain-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free, so they fit the bill. Her newest book Eat What You Love brings back all of our family favorites, and then some, and keeps our family safe and healthy! I had the opportunity to test some of the recipes and be a part of the cookbook launch team, so I have already made MANY of the recipes. Every single recipe had my daughters raving and declaring it their "favorite dinner so far!" My favorite so far has definitely been the Chicken Pot Pie, probably because I have missed it the most. And of course, the sweet treats are AMAZING! Paleo and tree-nut free banana bread, Snickerdoodles, chocolate donuts, and more. Easy to follow recipes, and perfect flavor combinations. Whether you follow a paleo lifestyle for food allergies, or just for general health, I highly recommend Eat What You Love to anyone!

This cookbook has all comfort foods you ate as a child. I had the privilege to be on the launch team where I was able to test out the book and make some recipes before the official release. Every recipe I made has been amazing. There are so many simple dinners as well as dinners you can make ahead. These comfort foods are so delicious and easy to make. The chicken Piccata with Spinach and Artichokes has been one of our favorite main dish so far. My 13 year old daughter said it was the “best version of Chicken Piccata I have ever made.” The Chocolate-Zucchini muffins were also a hit. Ever since we went grain free my kiddos have missed onion rings and corn dogs, well now they can have them and they are thrilled. My daughters most favorite cookie is a snicker doodle and Danielle Walkers brought in the win. The Cold Busters Probiotic Fruit Snacks are perfect way to keep your kids healthy during cold and flu season. This is a great present for family and friends with any dietary restrictions. Eat What You Love is a fantastic collection of comfort foods that anybody can enjoy. Do any of you long for a can of Cream of Mushroom soup that is gluten-free? The recipe in this book is perfection! Comfort casseroles are back again. Ever wish for a gooey grilled peanut butter? There is a bread recipe that will become a staple in your kitchen. I made the Teriyaki Salmon, the Roasted Lemon-Chile Asparagus, the Savory Sweet Potatoes (you have to try this!), and the Beef and Broccoli. I have many more I can't wait to try out. What I love about this book are the many quick and easy meal ideas. She includes Instant Pot, slow-cooker, sheet-pan, and one-pot recipes for these very busy nights leading in to the holiday season. She inludes a section for adjustments available for a variety of food allergen needs. All her recipes are gluten and dairy-free, but she includes information on nut and nightshade-free options. The substitutions information is worth the price of the book. Whether you have been cooking Paleo and gluten-free recipes for years or if you're brand new to gluten-free cooking, Eat What You Love will be a great tool in your kitchen.

I'm super impressed with Danielle yet again. I have all her cookbooks and this one does not disappoint! The one thing I love about her is that she just seems to understand that as a busy mom of 4, I need recipes that are easy and appealing to kids as well as adults. They are paleo and healthy so I expect there will be more prep work, but she makes it as easy as possible. My whole family really enjoys her recipes also. Trust me make the Beef & Broccoli FIRST! It is so good and really very simple.

Eat What You Love is a masterpiece filled with delicious gluten-free/grain-free and dairy-free recipes to turn even the biggest paleo skeptic into a believer. This book is so beautifully photographed, each recipe so well-detailed, and the collection of recipes is the best part. My favorites are the Cowboy Cookies and Butter Chicken. As a volunteer recipe tester, I received an advance complimentary copy and have personally made so many of the recipes already. This is a valuable resource for your kitchen, particularly if you are transitioning your family to a special diet- there is something for everyone! This is the perfect gift for someone who loves to spend time in the kitchen creating comfort food favorites.

This is Danielle Walker's fourth book and she's hitting the spot with her recipes once again. In this book, she's recreated beloved comfort foods with ingredients that are not inflammatory to most. From Chicken Pot Pie to Sloppy Joes to Snickerdoodle Cookies, her recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo. I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of Eat What You Love, so I've been able to test a few recipes already and I look forward to making my way through the rest of the book. I love that first time I try a new recipe and my family can not get enough of it. Needless to say, with me excited about Danielle's newest book, my family has been happily overfed :) Recipes I tried so far: Nut-free Banana Bread, French Onion Soup, Nut-free Lunchbox Bread, Chili Cornbread Pie and Moroccan Chicken Sheet-Pan Supper. I was seriously impressed by the nut-free banana bread. Having made the previous almond flour version of this bread in the past but encountering some issues with it staying somewhat wet after baking, I was pleasantly surprised by the texture of this bread. Even with extra chocolate chips added, it was not heavy or wet inside and the flavor was the best I ever had in a banana bread - I suggest you try it! The nut-free lunchbox bread is egg-heavy, so not for everyone, but texture-wise, it came out like a loaf bought fresh from a bakery. The only issue was that it dried up some over the next few days because I didn't store it properly - no problem though, I used the rest of it to make Fench Toast ;) The Moroccan Chicken was easy to make with the minimum amount of dirty dishes. The end result was well spiced but on the sweet side (butternut squash and dried fruit). Next time, I may also throw in a few fingerlings potatoes and reduce the amount of dried fruit. The French onion soup came out perfectly seasoned taking me back to my college days and the soup my favorite French restaurant used to make. The spices Danielle has put together for her chilli cornbread pie are in perfect balance, not that different than the chilli spices in her first book, Against All Grain, which always hits the spot for me. I'm also a big fan of her skillet cornbread in Celebrations, so to be honest, I was a bit nervous about adding the cornbread mixture to the top of the chilli because I didn't want to ruin two perfect dishes. I went for it and it turned out delicious! Highlights: The book is hardbound, which helps it lay flat while open, is filled with gorgeous inspiring food pictures. and well organized by categories (it also includes a 'packed lunches' section). I love the photo index with page numbers for each recipe at the back of the book - it's probably my most used feature of Danielle's books. You can find an Ingredient glossary and substitutions at the beginning of the book. Meal planning information and 4 weeks worth of meal plans are also at the beginning. Icons at the top of each recipe help identify at a glance the cooking method and whether that recipe fits specific dietary restrictions. Tidbits and variations for some recipes - extra info and ideas as well as 'make it ahead' suggestions. Some recipes are more complex in terms of ingredients called for and steps required. This leads to a few recipes spreading over two pages - keep in mind though that some of the volume is due to the extra info Danielle generously provides (Tidbits/Variations). A valuable addition to any cookbook library not just to Paleo collections!

I have added this book to my collection of Danielle's other books and it is amazing! I use her recipes in our home weekly and love getting to feel like I am eating all the normal foods that I once had before food allergies took over my life! I had the opportunity to test some of the recipes before its release and these recipes have been such a taste of comfort! They are the feel good, cozy-home recipes that everyone loves and can enjoy around the table.

This cookbook is her best yet-- all of the recipes that we have tried have been awesome and super easy! I volunteered to be a recipe tester for the book before it came out which is why I received an advanced copy of the book were able to try the recipes in advance! I have been gluten free and dairy free, and enjoyed many of the foods I have been unable to have due to these food restrictions! One of my favorite meals was the Moroccan Chicken, which was a one pan meal so clean up was a breeze! (Each recipe that is a one pan meal, or that can be prepared in an InstantPot, or slow cooker, was labeled at the top of each page which was very beneficial!) I love that there is a "Ingredient Substitution Chart" at the beginning of the book which has been helpful to limit the need for a million new ingredients, or if you forget something at the store. I really enjoyed that there have been modifications included for many of the meals, and there are also many that are nut free as well-- which is a blessing since my husband has a tree nut allergy! Each recipe is listed with a recipe icon-- EF-Egg Free, NF- Nut Free, NSF- Nightshade Free, SCD friendly. As with all of her cookbooks, there is a meal planning section, so that you can have a prep day and a grocery list already prepared for you! Overall, I would highly recommend it and have been extremely happy with everything we have been making! I will be buying more copies as gifts this year!

I was thrilled to receive an advance copy of this cookbook and even more thrilled to try out some delicious new recipes! My favorite so far has been the Chicken Parmesan. It was exactly the flavors I remembered from my childhood, without the dairy and gluten. My husband even proclaimed it to be in his "Top Ten" and all 3 of my kiddos gobbled it right up, so I'm sure it will be on regular rotation around here! I tried the Loaded Baked Potato Soup (YUM!) and the Teriyaki Salmon - as a busy mom I love having the sheet pan supper options and there are several in this book. Among the other recipes I am so looking forward to making - the chocolate donuts (so are my kids - that was their first request! :) ), the onion rings (never thought I'd be able to have those again), the chicken nuggets (another kid favorite that I rarely buy because of price and ingredients I'd rather not use). There's a recipe for POP TARTS! If that isn't instant childhood, I don't know what is. :-D The photos are gorgeous - I mentioned my kids, right? I lost count of how many times my kids said "Oh, Mommy, can we make that??" It's always fun to get kids cooking and in the kitchen to establish healthy eating priorities. Thank you, Danielle, for another fabulous cookbook!

Danielle Walker creates the best paleo recipes. She puts so much time and love into her recipes and that really shows in the taste of the food. Her recipes have changed our family. I don't have to feel mom guilt because I am choosing to feed my kids healthy foods, because of her and her passion to want to help people I can give my kids the same "normal" things their friends are having and feel good about it. I got to be a recipe tester for this book before it launched. I loved every recipe that I made. I made the Snickerdoodles, Sun Butter Crunch Bars, Beef with Broccoli, Acai Berry-Chia Pudding Parfaits, Chocolate Donuts, and the Fish Sticks and Naan. As always with any of Danielle's books, you will not be disappointed!

Danielle Walker has once again created an amazing cookbook! I was able to be on the team that got an early release of the book so I was able to test the recipes. Not only were the meals easy to make, they also are great recipes that you can make ahead and freeze. All the recipes are gluten free, dairy free and pale as well. All the recipes are what you would normally eat on a regular day just modified! I can't wait to continue cooking through and planning meals! My favourite part of this cookbook is the substitution chart in the front!

I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive an advanced complimentary copy of the book, and couldn't be more impressed. I was able to try some recipes and I especially love the sweets section--being 'refined sugar' free, I love having options to satisfy my sweet tooth. As in one of her previous cookbooks, she's included meal plans and lays it out clearly with a picture guide--this is super helpful and easy to follow. I eat mainly Paleo, so on a busy weeknight it's great that she has so many quick recipes to whip up in a pinch, like honey-mustard chicken, my new go too. I am getting an instant pot for Christmas and am excited to try some of her recipes in it as well. I highly recommend this book if you are Paleo or are interested in eating healthier. You can't go wrong with Danielle Walker!

Eat What You Love is full of yummy, family-friendly recipes! After looking through my early edition copy of EWYL, which I received as a volunteer recipe tester, I made Shrimp and Sausage Jambalaya on page 209. It came out way better than I expected -- full of flavor with some kick to it. I found the instructions to be clear and easy to follow. The recipes I have ear-marked to try next are Moroccan Chicken Sheet-Pan Supper on page 210 and French Dip Sandwiches on page 217. I liked the book so much that I ordered a copy for my niece who has a restricted diet. She already owns and loves Against All Grain!

This book has a really nice variety of meals and snacks. Many of them are simple to pull together and are honestly so tasty. Many of the recipes use the same pantry ingredients so you only have to stock up once which makes things easy. The Instant Pot meals and Ingredient Substitution Chart are also nice features in the book. I have all of Danielle Walker's cookbooks and this might be my favourite one yet!

BRAVO!!!! This has by far been the best cookbook Danielle Walker has put out to date. I had the pleasure of being on her launch team to test the recipes before it hit shelves, which is why I received and advanced complimentary copy. She brings comfort food to life, not to mention quick and easy meals to prepare during the week. Beef and Broccoli, Chicken Pot Pie, Cornbread Chili, Banana Bread (you can't even tell it's gluten-free) and loaded baked potato soup were just a few of the recipes I tested. My family would say that the Loaded Baked Potato Soup and Chicken Pot Pie, were their favorites so far. I have all of Danielle Walkers books and they are definately loved, per the splatter marks on the pages LOL! The only downside to not just this book, but all of her books, is the nutritional value is not listed. It would be helpful in calculating carbs. #Ihaveadiabeticinthehouse. But that's the ONLY downside. I do believe she posts the nutritional on her website, but maybe one day those would be published in her upcoming books. So my overall review is 5 stars! Can't wait to see what Danielle Walker can possibly come up with next.

I love this cookbook! There are so many fast dinners to get on the table that are also made of nutritious, whole foods to fuel your family! As a mom to a picky five year old with special needs, I love being able to cook nutritious food FAST! Danielle offers so many quick, sheet pan or one pot meals as well as make-ahead options to freeze for future busy nights. Once again the cookbook helps with meal planning because she gives you different ways to use the recipes, as well as make ahead tips to cut prep time. I was given the opportunity to be a recipe tester so I have already been able to try so many of the dinners! Our family favorites so far are the sloppy joe's over savory sweet potato mash, the honey mustard sheet pan salmon (roasted extra veggies for a breakfast frittata too!) and the chicken and dumpling soup!!!!! She also gives a great list of brand resources for different products. We cannot wait to cook through this entire book! Thank you Danielle for another great addition on my kitchen. This is a great book for anyone looking to get more comfortable with paleo/gluten-free/dairy-free cooking or a seasoned paleo cook. There is nothing like having your favorite meals and knowing you are fueling your family at the same time.

Donuts and bagels without grain! This book opens up so many more opportunities to enjoy foods that can’t be found without grains and dairy. Danielle Walker’s cookbooks have provided countless recipes for my kitchen, dinner table, and family. The recipes have obviously been well tested as they turn out just right. Plus, there is a section on substitutions. I volunteered to be a recipe tester for the book before it came out which is why I received an advanced complimentary copy of the book and I had a chance to try a handful of recipes in advance. I made the bagels, donuts, grain-free wraps, salmon, steak fajitas, french dip sandwiches, ricotta cheese, snickerdoodles, pressure cooker chicken, chicken parmesan. I received Eat What You Love as a recipe tester, hence my quick review! I have been blown away by the great recipes, across the board. I don't have kids so I'm just cooking for myself and friends, and believe me, these recipes are for any human, regardless of age, palate and dietary need! This cookbook is a great addition to the kitchen for people who are looking to add more real-food based recipes into their comfort food arsenal; which can seem like a tall order, but it isn't anymore. I really enjoyed the Thai Crunch Salad, with the savory crunchy almonds on top. I've already made it a handful of times and it's my new weeknight salad go-to.

So much grain free goodness!!! I was so excited when I heard that Danielle was releasing a fourth cookbook but didn't know how she could possibly top her last book (Celebrations) which is my favorite cookbook of all time, not just among my gluten free books. Even better, I got to receive the book early as a recipe tester! This book - focusing on paleo comfort food - did not disappoint. My husband and toddler have also been big fans of everything I have cooked from this book. I will caution that the recipes vary in intricacy and time, so you'll want to do a thorough read of a recipe before attempting it on a weeknight! For example, the beef stew and pulled pork were both extremely effortless instant pot meals and easily prepared on a worknight. However, the chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie required much more time and attention, maybe saved for a Sunday afternoon, but both were worth the effort. In fact, the chicken pot pie is so incredible I am already planning to make a triple batch again this week to freeze (as she recommends) so I can enjoy its goodness on a weeknight. Some of our other favorites include chocolate donuts (surprisingly easy to make!) and snicker doodles. After 9 years of being gluten free, I know I can always count on Danielle's recipes to be great for my family. I was so thrilled with the recipes so far that I ordered a few more books for Christmas presents!

Danielle Walker has done it again! She has made gluten free, grain free, refined sugar free, dairy free food delicious, beautiful, and just like you remember your old favorites. I had the joy of being part of Danielle's launch team and received an advanced copy of Eat What you Love. I couldn't put the book down it was so beautiful! I appreciate how this book features her recipes and also pics of her sweet family here and there. The recipes! You no longer have to choose between your health and your family favorites. With Eat What You Love, you can have both! Snickerdoodles, sandwich bread, and chicken nuggets that will rival your original recipes and yet they fit a lifestyle that avoids common allergens. Anyone who is transitioning their kitchen to allergy friendly food should grab this book! It makes the transition so much easier and so much more delicious! Get this book! You will be SO glad you did!

It’s like being hugged by a cookbook! Danielle Walker’s 4th cookbook delivers as promised with grain free, dairy free classic comfort foods. This cookbook reads like a BOOK, with Danielle’s relatable voice sharing with you the stories behind the dishes she created for this collection. I was given an advance copy of the book and the opportunity to test the recipes before the release, and of the 15+ dishes my family tried, there were zero fails. The recipe portions are scaled for real families, and, delightfully, we even had leftovers of many to enjoy for lunch or ease the workload on a busy Monday. I’ve been a fan of Danielle’s since “going Paleo” 5 years ago and, as always, her recipes are rigorously tested and virtually foolproof. There are a few unusual ingredients (necessary to achieve the elusive authenticity of the flavors!) but Danielle does a great job providing substitutions. There is something for everyone in this book whether you’re a Sunday meal prepper or a weeknight warrior (although you’ll enjoy this cookbook much more if you buy in to a meal prep day at the start of the week). My only complaint is a formatting one – unlike Danielle’s first two books, there is no timetable offered at the outset of the recipe. When I’m meal planning, I need to know what I’m getting into, so my copy is already littered with penciled in addition where I tried to piece together and estimate prep and cook times (and there were a few 8:30 dinners where I misjudged in this area). Our favorites: Millionaire’s Bacon, Chocolate Donuts, Nut-Free Banana Bread, Beef & Broccoli, Deviled Egg Salad, and Baked Potato Soup. Have already ordered two more books as gifts.
