About the Author

Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet and hot and edgy romantic suspense. When she's not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as "The Pleather Bomber", she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a USA Today best-selling author and a 2016 and 2015 RWA RITA® finalist and 2014 Bookseller’s Best nominee who lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. Kimberly resides in Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters. Visit her any time at or come check her out on Facebook ( and Twitter (@kimberlykincaid).

Deep Check is the story of Finn Donnelly and January Sinclair, and is a part of the Station Seventeen series. It can be read as a stand alone, but the entire series is fantastic. This second chance at love is a quick read that is not short in details!!

Finn Donnelly is so close…. He’s a hockey star, a valuable member of the now-Stanley Cup-winning New Orleans Rage team. But he cannot say he’s “done it,” cannot check that box, until he returns home to Remington to bring the Cup to his best friend Asher’s grave. For Finn, that act of going home, of facing his ghosts, seeing January Sinclair, is far more daunting than playing all-out hockey for the long grueling season. Asher, January and Finn were fast friends growing up - Ash and his “calendar girl” were Finn’s touchstones as he faced those difficult years living with his abusive father. Then one night - really one kiss between Finn and January - blew that friendship to smithereens. Now, 7 years later, Finn is determined to apologise to and honor Asher by bringing the Cup to his graveside…... And so Kimberly Kincaid returns us to Remington and Station Seventeen with a novella-sized story that is more than just a second-chance-at-love tale. It is an emotional story about having no regrets, about savoring true friends, about not denying your roots - both in the past and in present day. This author has a wonderful way of evoking emotions from her characters that hit you deep.Without realizing it, Finn and January were operating on a type of auto-pilot, excelling at their respective jobs but missing a piece of their soul. Watching them back interacting with each other was such a beautiful dance of emotions - humor, uneasiness, hope, sadness and finally love- that the end seemed to come far too soon! I often say that it takes some skilled writing by an author to develop a full-length novel’s worth of engrossing plot, character development and satisfying conclusion within the confines of a short story. This well-written novella accomplishes that and more. Not to mention the added bonus of a visit with our favorite group of first responders at Station Seventeen!

Loved this! It's a fun, sexy second chance romance that is very well written and has some amazing characters. I'm not always a fan of novellas because I really like getting to know the characters in a book. This one doesn't hold anything back and contains a lot on a few pages. Definitely one I recommend to everyone. After winning "The Cup" with the Rage, Finn Donnelly returns to Remington, NC to face the demons of his past. Surprisingly, clearing up the past helps him find the path for his future.

Awesome second chance story! Finn is the star Center for the New Orleans Rage and January is the girl he left behind back in his hometown of Remington. When it's Finn's turn to take the Cup there's only one place he wants to go and one person he needs to show he'd accomplished his goal then he's back to New Orleans. He doesn't count on the impact of seeing January again will have on him and the ties he still feels to her. January was hurt more than she cares to admit when Finn left Remington, and her, to find fame and glory in the world as a professional hockey player. Even though it's been 7 years she still feels the sting of his rejection. But now he's back looking sexier than ever, humble and apologetic, and ready to make amends. These two were fabulous together in every way. Very romantic and steamy love story. Great characters, fun dialogue, and engaging to the end. 4 stars.
