This is such a lovely book. It is designed primarily for children, but it is so well done that it speaks to adults as well. What I particularly like is that the author doesn't just write about why animals and how we treat them matters, she lives this way. She owns her own animal rescue farm and she has children herself, so she knows how to speak to them without speaking down to them. It makes this important message resonate with all ages, but especially with the idea that those who learn compassion early in life will always carry these principles.
