Sigmund Freud writes a major a case study on a woman named 'Dora.' She is 18 years of age and lives in Vienna, Austria with her father, who's in his late 40's and her obsessive-compulsive mother who is constantly cleaning the house to the point of neuroticism at it's best! Freud studies 'Dora' who is at the pinnacle of being 'miserable' as her father is having an affair with his nurse, who's the family friend of Dora's father and mother, with whom they had met at an exclusive health resort called 'B--.' Needless to say, Dora leads a life of psychosomatic illnesses that range from the absurd (literally losing her voice) down to chronic chest pains! This book is definitely for the psychoanalyst in us all! I give this book 5 stars and 5 cheers because this book should be read by anyone who has an interest in repression and the unconscious.
