Notes From Your Bookseller

Scott Slater's brilliant debut Down the Hole is a mosaic of Julia Donaldson charm, Jon Klassen magnetism and Ryan T. Higgins humor. Adam Ming's art is the perfect pairing for Slater's story about a fox and rabbit trying to outsmart each other... with possible dire consequences. Down the Hole has everything you'd want in a picture book.

About the Author

Scott Slater grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he earned a BAS in Animation and Visual Effects. Scott then hopped to Southern California, where he currently lives with his family and works as a computer animator and previsualization artist. When he's not writing or drawing, Scott likes to travel, and he is always on the lookout for a suspiciously polite fox. This is his first picture book. You can reach him at scottslaterbooks.com.

Adam Ming grew up on Penang Island, Malaysia, where you will find the best food hidden in back alleys and world heritage buildings. He worked as a creative director for a decade on a number of apps and is now a full-time illustrator for clients like Bloomsbury, Wern and Rook, Hardie Grant, Scholastic, and Anderson Press. He believes every day is a mini adventure that adds up to a grand adventure. He now lives in Kuala Lumpur with his wife and kid. His current adventures are raising his daughter, illustrating children’s books, and plotting against clever foxes. Visit him at adamming.com.
