About the Author

An adventuress and traveler, Simone is a sensual being who loves to read stories that excite her. She takes exception to authors who promote their works as ‘dirty’, ‘filthy’, or ‘smutty’: She believes that sex is wonderful in all of its incarnations, and doesn’t shy away from graphic descriptions of realistic sexual experiences, no matter how messy. Her writing is mainly in the ‘literary realism’ style – i.e., it is wild (even outrageous) … but could really happen to you! She values openness in relationships, and demonstrates this through her characters. Prior to becoming an author, Simone was a nurse. One of her pet peeves is reading erotica that gets simple anatomy wrong! She is continually bewildered by women who haven’t explored their own bodies. Another pet peeve is the mostly hung-up Victorian society prevalent in the U.S., and she tries her hardest to change that by introducing people to new sexual and sensual experiences through her erotic writing. The activities in Simone’s books are quite realistic, as she has participated in most of these in ‘real life’, as surreal as it may seem. Simone is currently completing the Experiences series, which will run an estimated 1,000,000 words! That is why she refers to it as an ‘epic’ romance, although each volume is intended to stand on its own, with a ‘happy for now’ ending. Experiences is an attempt to combine literary style and philosophical discussion by the characters with graphic portrayal of sex in all of its kinks and fetishes. You may not like all of the things Simone’s characters do … but neither do they. Their exploration of new experiences will hopefully motivate some readers to explore their own sexuality to a greater extent. Simone loves to hear from her readers, so feel free to contact her. In fact, she hopes you will feel ‘free’ sexually and spiritually, as well. Please follow her on social media and her blog. On her website, you may interact directly with the main characters in her books, including asking them questions in order to understand their perspectives in more depth.

The line between love and Dark BDSM Sam and Kelly have connected in a way that most would find dark or disturbing, but it's their ability to both try new things, even dark things that some would find taboo. Sam helps Kelly explore herself, and explore with him, as he is her dominant, but there's a side to Sam, that allows himself to be on the other side. This book is very well written and shows, rather than tells about the bond between Sam, though he is a lot older, and Kelly. The experiences have allowed them to fall in love and take each other to places where no one else could, even when they bring in others for their play time. I highly recommend the entire series, but should warn that there is a lot of dark play, such as BDSM medical play and branding. I think this is the best one of the series.

Once again, we delve into the complex relationship and love life of Kelly and Sam, in the latest installment of the "Experience" series. As with the previous installments, this book explores once again the ever evolving kinks and interests of the couple, when Sam surprises Kelly with a trip to Europe. It's not just a sightseeing trip, however: Sam meets up with an old friend, who takes them on a tour that is more than likely not in any run of the mill travelogues out there. They are introduces to clubs and gatherings that Kelly didn't even know that she was missing out on, culminating with a session with an actual dominatrix! As soon as I saw that Kelly and Sam see a dominatrix in this book, my first thought was "Yeah, of course they are! I'm surprised that hasn't been brought up yet!" Which is not a bad thing, mind you. I just saw it as the obvious progression of this couples relationship. If they wanted to keep getting more and more adventurous, this was definitely going to be on that path eventually. Kelly and Sam's relationship continues to be a compelling read, and I still enjoy their relationship a little more than I like the erotic sections of this series. And those are very well written, as well! If you have been following this series up to this point, this is a no-brainer. It continues with the characters that you have come to care about, and shows even more growth in both them, and their relationship. If you are just starting on this series, however, you should definitely check out the intro to the series. It is shorter, and free! You can't go wrong with free!

Simone Freier's Latest Is Another Winner When the "Experiences" saga began we met Kelly and Sam. They were a couple who you think just could never get together. After all, she was 24 and Sam was bordering 50; she had known Sam's boys when they were kids and played soccer and Sam was a friend of her parents. Their coming together just didn't seem to be in the cards. Well, the cards didn't play out that way. After a party at which they became reacquainted, it was inevitable. Sam and Kelly just started talking and one thing led to another and they hit it off. Actually, they more than hit it off and they came together in a most unusual way. Sam had more than a little interest in playing sexual games (actually Bondage Dominance Sado-Masochism) and Kelly, it turned out, had more than just a passing interest in herself. Drawn together by their mutual interest, Sam and Kelly's relationship started to grow. In a relatively short space of time, their relationship deepened to trust and beyond to love. Kelly and Sam have been together for some time now and for her birthday Sam promised Kelly, among other things, a trip to Europe. This is the canvas upon which author Simone Freier paints the latest installment of this series, "European Experiences." First, though, Freier tidies up one leftover from "Birthday Experience," the preceding piece of this puzzle, Kelly and Sam's relationship with Julie. Freier does the tidying quite nicely, in a way that is likely to come up in a later offering in this serious. Tidying up finished, Kelly and Sam get ready for and take their trip. During the trip, Sam shows Kelly sites that aren't in most Fodor travel guides. The sites Sam chooses are definitely far off the normal beaten tourist path and include spots that Sam had earlier shared with his late wife Margaret. Along the way, they spend time with and share intimacies with Henk/Helga, a straight man with cross-dressing on his mind and Zoe, his bi-sexual partner. The trip also finds them having more than a few mind-bending experiences. Through it all, the one constant that has remained is their common interest in BDSM. Here's the thing about it, though, it isn't gratuitous. It takes a strong author to create a wild scene, using BDSM as the plot hook, while never letting the prop overpower the story. Freier's skill as an author shines in these scenes where it is also too easy to rely on the sexual play going on rather than showing the human side of this equation. Instead, though, the author uses her considerable skill to keep the fine balance needed to keep the story balanced. Like an artist adept at using light and shadow to enhance a painting, Freier has skillfully woven a tale that highlights the continued deepening of their commitment as it goes through all of the halting steps that relationships take as they continue to evolve. At this point in the maturing relationship, author Freier has brought his main characters inching toward a deep commitment. I suspect that an author of Freier's caliber has some interesting surprises in store for her readers in the next installment of the "Experiences" saga. It should be out soon and I am looking forward to read it.

The last book of the Experiences series, “Birthday Experience,” saw female protagonist Kelly turning twenty-five while Sam, her “man friend” (as he calls himself in the newest installment), threw a wildly erotic party for her and her friends. At the time, it was the most erotic tale in the series. But author Simone Freier offered us a trip to Europe and, as always, she has used the opportunity to up the ante even further in terms of both the book’s erotic content and the burgeoning wealth of exploratory experiences shared by Sam, Kelly, and their friends. The book brings back a number of supporting characters, including Kelly’s friend Julie, who is almost becoming as enrapt with the world of medical sex and sadomasochism as our protagonists. There are also, however, many new characters introduced as the two travel abroad. While it is nice to visit with characters that readers of the series have seen develop over the course of previous installments, it is also refreshing to meet new personalities and experience new erotic sensations across the book’s nineteen chapters. Despite the growing cast of characters (although it might be assumed that at least some of the characters in this installment are one-time appearances), Freier has not altogether ignored the focus of the book: the growing relationship between Sam and Kelly. Early on, the two express doubts as to whether or not they could publicly declare themselves in a relationship. Between their age difference and their alternative lifestyle, some might even say it seems unlikely that so many of Kelly’s friends have already embraced the two as a couple. Regardless of your views on the subject (which are probably fairly open-minded if you’re reading these books), it is inarguable that this is a real situation that would be encountered by such a couple in real life. And that is where Freier continues to excel the most. While her style is described as “literary realism,” there is in fact something surreal about certain scenes in her books. And yet it is difficult to imagine that a real couple such as Sam and Kelly would not experience similar fears, hopes, doubts and dreams. Freier takes two characters to whom some might not be able to relate, yet makes them relatable. And that is why her series is likely to continue successfully until she is ready to finish it.

European Experience: Subspace and Love on a Visit to Europe is part of the Experiences collection by Simone Freier. I've read the entire series and this was a welcome addition. In this installment, we get more of the story of Sam and Kelly except this time they're in Europe, hence the name of course. In a world of poor writing, and you know who I'm talking about, this is a breath of fresh air. Not only are the books engaging but they're nice and long instead of the 200 page novels you usually see. I enjoyed the trip to Europe and the continuing story of Sam and Kelly with some new friends along the way. The atmosphere was vivid and as usual, the fetishes were hot, steamy, and realistic. If you love adult fiction and who wouldn't, then you'll love this series and especially the new installment from Simone Freier.
