About the Author

De Kenyon likes to cook and eat weird food that tastes good but grosses people out when they find out what's in it, like chocolate truffles with fish sauce, fish heads, or tongue sandwiches. Her next gross-food project is going to be finding a tasty way to cook brains, which she will then feed to her daughter, aged ten.

She does karate with her daughter now, just in case zombies attack or her daughter gets mad about something she's eaten.

Under her other name, DeAnna Knippling, she has written Choose Your Doom: Zombie Apocalypse, a pick-your-own-path comedy adventure about brains, purple mold, and the undead in which you die...but you might just save the world.

"This is how I like my zombies: fast and funny. Choose this book, and you won't be choosing your doom. You'll be choosing hours of gooey, gory hilarity."
- Steve Hockensmith, New York Times best-selling author of
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: Dawn of the Dreadfuls

I recieved this book through Librarything Menber Giveaway Program. 8 year old Rachel's mom disappears. A week later, Raul (Rachel's friend and classmate) comes to the house. He is scared and in a hurry to get to mom's computer. Soon after, a couple of large dogs break into the house & chase Raul and Rachel. While on the run, Raul changes into a wolf. They are caught and this is where to adventure begins. These people who can turn into animals (they can speak while in animal form) call themselves Exotics. Rachel find that her mom is one. Most seem to be a form of dog. But there are also snakes, parrots, moles & other creatures. I loved this story. It kept my attention. Perfect for an easy read in the evening. Or to give to your preteen to enjoy. The ending left me hanging on the edge, waiting impatiently to read Book 2.
