Perhaps when two authors write a book together there are twice the words. That's how this felt to me. Things like telling the reader that Hailey put "bangles on her wrists and earrings in her lobes" rather than believing we knew that's where they went. I liked Hailey and Max. I can relate to the insecurities of excess weight and really appreciated the way Max honoured Hailey's "engagement". Both were genuinely likable characters. I liked the storyline, but Max couldn't let a paragraph go by without a f*ck or two or using Jesus Christ profanely. Why? F*cks do not enhance dialogue and if you give the tired argument that everyone says it we' ll come back with what mothers say. If your friend jumped off a cliff...? These people are supposed to be adults, but their speech is adolescent. Isn't it time to make romance characters more literate?

Kept me interested throughout the story. I wanted it to be longer but it was still good. The hero was my favorite. Great character that really supported the heroine in the story. Made me want to read more books by these two authors.

Well written story with strong and believable characters. Can a fake engagement solve their troubles? First book I have read from these authors and really enjoyed their style of writing. joy943

I love a story about a man falling in love with a normal sized woman. Max is awesome!

I love when there 2 authors write together. They write amazing stories. I love that they wrote about a curvaceous woman. Max just loved Hailey for who she was. He didn't care that she was a curvaceous. In fact he loved her more.

It was great reading a story about a man loving a woman that wasn't a size 2. Will we possibly see more about Max and Hailey in the future? I sure hope so! Marianne Mitchell

I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't my favorite written by Carly and Erika. The characters we good. There were moments that really drew me in, but in the same token some parts did not. I did laugh a few times while reading this book. I could definitely relate with Hailey. I know how she felt with insecurities because I've been there myself. I thought Max was great and just perfect for Hailey. The thing I can say is I could feel the connection between Hailey and Max so their fake arrangement was going to be difficult to stay "fake".

So I thought I was in love with Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde's writing before, but NOTHING prepared me for how much I fell...AND HARD for Faking It! I LOVED LOVED LOVED Max SO SO SOOOOO MUCH! Charming, all alpha, sexy, sweet, and knows JUST how to make a woman pant, melt, and beg for more, who also turned out to be a knight in shinning armor to a girl he happened to already have a thing for but just assumed at first she wasn't available, it was impossible not to fall for him. Out of all of Miss Wilde's and Miss Phillip's heroes, Max is the one that completely captured my heart! He was down to earth, sexy, seductive and knew how to play a knight and treat a woman with utmost respect. And Hailey...ah, now she is my FAVORITE type of heroine. Smart, beautiful, and CURVY, she deserved a man just like Max and I freaking LOVED...ADORED...CHERISHED the way these two fell into a compromise that turned into a love so sweet, and romantic it was hard not to swoon or sigh every few seconds! Seriously, Faking It is a TOP 10 MUST READ BOOKS of 2017! Dreamy, sweet, sexy, and romantic, this book will win ANY romance lover over in 10 seconds flat! Faking It gets a SWEET AS PIE FIVE SHOOTING STARS! It took my breath away and I just could not put it down.

Faking It is the 2nd book in the Book Boyfriend series from Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Seriously two of my absolute favorite authors teaming up to give me book heaven once again. I loved everything about Max and Hailey's story. I absolutely fell in love with Max Sterling as I read more and more of Faking It. He is such a sexy and strong hero. He actually looks at people and sees them for more than what is on the outside. I loved how much he cared for and wanted Hailey pretty much from the moment they met. I also loved how attracted Hailey was to Max from the moment they met. So much so that he was on her mind when they were away from one another. I adored Hailey and Max as a couple. Their attractions was off the charts hot and Max helped Hailey see herself the way he saw her. The fake engagement between Max and Hailey was destined to be real pretty much from the moment they agreed to it. Max and Hailey both liked each other as individuals, but needed help for personal reasons and business reasons. Max wanted to get away from stalker Addison, who was a family friend who wouldn't take no for an answer and Hailey is a successful matchmaker with no boyfriend. Max and Hailey worked on every level as a couple for me. Max took things slowly to earn Hailey's trust and Hailey became so much happier and stronger for having Max in her life first as a friend and then a lover. Faking It was one of those books I wanted to re-read as soon as I finished reading it the first time. In fact, I've already read it twice and loved it just as much on the second reading. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde give their readers characters to fall in love with and feel like you could be friends with as well. I highly recommend Faking It to all lovers of contemporary romances. This was a really good book but it was just to short. 144 pages but it could have been much longer without anyone losing interest. I felt connected right away so much more could have been done with her business side.

FAKING IT by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde is a stand alone, erotic romance story in the authors’ Book Boyfriend series. This is real estate mogul Max Sterling, and professional matchmaker Hailey Ellison’s story line. FAKING IT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Several characters cross over for cohesion and familiarity. Told from dual third person perspectives (Max and Hailey) FAKING IT is a fake fiancé trope in that both Hailey and Max are in need of an imaginary fiancé. For months Hailey has pretended to be engaged to ensure the success of her matchmaking business but had no intentions of revealing any important information or the truth about the who and why. Enter Max Sterling, Hailey’s real estate agent, and the man who stars in all of her fantasies and dreams including the use of the name Max Sterling as her imaginary fiancé. Max is desperate to stop his mother’s meddling in his personal life and offers Hailey the option of joining together for mutual benefits. What ensues is the building relationship between Max and Hailey, and the fall out when the truth is finally revealed. Hailey has issues with self-esteem including a struggle with weight and body image that pulls at Hailey’s need to succeed. Max is a successful real estate agent who finds himself attracted to a woman who claims to be engaged. Their mutual need for a fiancé finds our couple falling in love but Hailey struggles with the possibility of an expiry date on their building relationship. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of sexually graphic, over the top language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Wes and Natalie, renovation expert Kyle Coleman, and Connor Prescott, who works in the construction side of the real estate business as an investor and property flipper-all first introduced in Big Shot #1. We are also introduced to Hailey’s assistant and best friend Brielle; Max’s parents Grace and Douglas Sterling; as well as Max’s his brother Alex, and his sister Kristen. The requisite evil is Addison Brooks, a woman who refuses to take no for an answer. The world building looks as the building relationship between Max and Hailey, and the potential for fall out when all is revealed. The friendship and camaraderie between Max and his friends leads to some humorous moments, as well as the heartbreaking possibility when the time on Max and Hailey’s fake fiancé story line expires. FAKING IT is a lighthearted, sweet and seductive story line with moments of humor, fun, falling in love and letting go of the past. We are witness to romance and love; friendship and family; betrayal and revenge. The premise is sexy, spicy and heartwarming; the characters are energetic and realistic; the romance is intimate and sensual. FAKING IT is a delightful and courageous story line as one woman steps out of her comfort zone and into the arms of the man with whom she will fall in love.

Faking It was another great story. I love a dirty sexy loving story. I love when stories start off as a fake relationship but the two fall in love, it’s kind of like best friends that turn into lovers. I also love when “confirmed bachelors” fall in love. Sexual banter is the best, it’s both flirty and fun.

Faking It is another winner for Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde as they continue to co-write books. These two are among my favorite authors and are among the most talented writers in Romance Land. Combining their voices created a strong story, with characters that not only have compassion and empathy but also depth. I have to say that this book is equal parts dirty and sexy, with some extra fun thrown in, all which benefits by the combining of their voices. I highly recommend this book to all readers. This book is definitely hot and sexy, but is also a story about two people who are were not looking for love but found it accidently. Becoming a fake engaged couple benefitted not only Hailey as she ran her matchmaking business but also for Max. Confirmed bachelor Max was being stalked by a woman who would not take no for an answer. Having Hailey on his arm was the perfect answer to deter this woman. Or was it? Can Hailey and Max overcome the lies to actually fall in love? I truly cannot wait to see what to see what Carly and Erika have lined up next as they continue this co-authorship. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

ARC for honest review with no compensation Just like all the books these two ladies write, Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde find swoon worthy men and their sexy, smart beautiful women and bring them together……. Hailey Ellison is in the matchmaking business and while she has a great success rate for bring her clients together, she has not been as lucky to find her own match. Her insecurities come from her childhood and college experiences. She has taken to wearing an engagement ring to keep her male clients from hitting on her. Now she needs to find a larger place to hold the business, have conference rooms, large room for mixers for her clients to meet their potential match and an apartment for her. She hires Max Sterling to help her in the hunt for the “perfect building”. Max Sterling real estate agent extraordinaire has found place for Hailey to look at but so far has not been able to find the “perfect building”. While they have been looking for three months, Max feels an attraction for Hailey and he believes she does to but because she is wearing an engagement ring he doesn’t pursue or put pressure on her. A client of Max’s calls and tell him wants to put his building on the market but want to have a quick sale as he is getting divorced. Max knows that this is the “perfect building” for Hailey. After showing Hailey the building, she knows it’s the one and they decide to go out for a celebration lunch, but when leaving they run into the mother of one of her clients who she told a little white lie to about her “fake” fiancé (aka she used Max as her model) and the truth comes out about the engagement ring. Max decides to play along for reasons of his own and now it gets interesting….. Lots of flirty, sexy banter, little white lies and an attraction between them that is swoon worthy but will Hailey let down her guard and let Max show her that she is a smart, sexy, beautiful woman who deserves love and a HEA or will she push him away because of her insecurities????

3.5 Stars! I can always count on Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde to provide just the right amount of heat and drama to make a book entertaining. Faking It is their latest collaboration, and it is replete with interesting characters, clever banter and some very hot sex scenes. Hailey Ellison is a professional matchmaker on the verge of expanding her very successful business. Since her love life is virtually nonexistent, she pretends to be engaged so that her clients have the utmost confidence in her skills to find them the perfect match. Since she sort of daydreams about Max Sterling, her very competent and handsome realtor, she uses his name if asked about her fiancee. Naturally she gets caught in her lie, as she and Max are exiting a restaurant together. As Hailey stumbles with her words, Max comes to her rescue and assumes the fake fiancee role. As a result, their business relationship evolves into a hot, passionate affair. Overtime they fall in love, however, Hailey's insecurities and Max's quasi-stalker, may prevent them from having a future together. To begin with, the book cover is hot and the first chapter is wonderfully executed and enlightening. Secondly, Hailey and Max are extremely likable characters and I enjoyed their attraction both in and out of the bedroom. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy the "relationship of convenience" genre, I found this rendering to be so-so. Complimentary copy provided by RockStarLit PR.

She hires Max Sterling, one of the top-notch luxury Real Estate Agents in Chicago to help her find what she wants. At their first meeting Hailey is wearing an engagement ring. Max and Hailey are both attracted to each but nothing occurs because of the engagement, plus Hailey's insecurities about her full figure. Hailey has been keeping a BIG secret from Max. She not really engaged and when they run into one of her clients mother after their lunch the secret comes out. Max is a HOT upstanding guy who goes out of his way to help Hailey by agreeing to play the part of Hailey's Fake Fiancé. Max has his own reasons to agree to play along. This is where the FUN begins!!! There are so many reasons why I love Max and Hailey's story, and I'm sure you will feel the same once you read it. No spoilers, but I truly believe that this is a MUST read! I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is an interesting, entertaining, fun and sexy romance about a couple that has been building sexual tension over a long three months and trying their best to ignore an intense attraction both for separate yet compelling reasons. Confirmed bachelor Max Sterling is content to be single and is not convinced he will ever find the one since the only woman he as been instantly attracted to is the very unavailable client of the last three months who is engaged to another man. (that he has never seen or heard about but has seen the ring on her finger every encounter with her) Hailey Ellison is a shy and sweet woman with strong body image issues enforced by her one and only lover in college and recently decided to start wearing a ring on a very important finger to shave her heart the trouble mean cause. Their mutual runaway attraction explodes one lunch celebration and the game is on.. Loved every heart pounding, fun filled, plot twisting moment.

Hailey Ellison has a successful matching making business but is so unsuccessful in her own love life. She decides to create a fake fiancé after her hot realtor Max Sterling. Max is trying to stop his mom from setting him up with suitable wife material. Her last attempt with Addison is still a nightmare with Addison refusing to accept there is no spark. Max truly wants Hailey but thinks she is engaged and of course Hailey is drawn to Max. Chance happens that they can both help each other out by faking an engagement. Both soon learn their feelings for each other are too strong. Can Hailey accept that Max truly loves her and that she is exactly what he wants? Couldn't put it down and can't wait for next book.

I’m pretty sure Faking It’s hero is a unicorn, and we know how women loooove unicorns. Max Sterling is one of those rare men who have it all: looks, charm, intelligence, and success. He’s got it, isn't afraid to use it, and knows exactly what to do with it. Plus, this sexy dirty talker is sweet, respects his mama *swoon*, and has no discernible hang-ups that I could find. See what I'm talkin' about? A total unicorn. Hailey has been attracted to Max since they met, but she doesn’t feel a man of his “caliber” would ever be interested in her. She's been hurt before so has shied away from lasting relationships, which has led her to get herself into an embarrassing bind. Max's endearing inability to tell his mama “no” has created a nightmare he can't shake. A fake engagement sounds like the perfect solution to solve both their problems. And since they’re pretending, why not act on the lust they both feel for one another and enjoy all the pleasures of being a couple? Faking It is a new play on an old trope, and it really worked for me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Max and Hailey’s relationship develop, as well as Hailey’s confidence in herself. Max, mindful of Hailey’s skittishness and inexperience, challenged her but also took great care with her. It was at once seductive and adorable. The story has plenty of steam, but is a lot sweeter than these two authors usually write. It left me with a sappy grin and a feeling of reader contentment that had been alluding me for months. Kudos to Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde for creating such a unique and captivating cast of characters for the Book Boyfriends series. They're a fun group that I can't help but love and want to spend more reading time about. Seeing them all again in Faking It was a real treat, and makes me even more anxious for the next book in the series. It sounds like one of my favorite tropes, and I cannot wait.

Wow! What an amazing story. Max was totally sigh worthy and Hailey was so sweet. I loved how their relationship developed. Max was so caring and patient with Hailey. She had some insecurities to overcome before she could truly believe an HEA with Max was possible. But their relationship was just so darn cute and there were many moments that made me smile. Even though I felt that this story was more on the sweeter side it still had its naughty moments that were unbelievably hot. Max is definitely my new book boyfriend. Another highly recommendable story by Carly and Erika. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book*

I was given an ARC for my honest review I can honestly say that I loved this story. This story was so well done I felt that I was literally in the story. Meet Max and Hailey. Two very awesome people who have been fighting an attraction they have to each other for over three months. Max has been fighting his attraction to Hailey, because Hailey is engaged (supposedly), and Hailey is fighting her attraction to Max because of her insecurities and past bad relationships about her having a little extra meat on her bones. I think Max is every girls dreams and Carly and Erika wrote him perfectly. Max has an ex that just doesn't understand the word No and a celebratory lunch ends up with Max finding out that not only is the woman he's been fighting his attraction for isn't engaged, but that her fake engagement is to him. She had her reasons, I get it, being plus size myself I totally got her insecurities. Max makes a proposition to Hailey, one that would help them both out or so they hoped, but Max's ex ? UGH I'd like to string her up by her high heels and play pin the tail on the hateful witch. I do give props to Max for defending Hailey and fighting off the ex when he needed too and Hailey has some amazing friends that had her back. But that hateful wench really does a number on Hailey . Being judged by what you look like hurts, but I'm glad Hailey was finally able to let Max in and trust again. I wanted this story to go on and on. It was such an easy read that I had it read it just a couple of hours and found myself saying Noooooo when it ended. I look forward to the next story by these two awesome ladies.
