Having perused this instant book; Families as Partners: The Essential Link in Children’s Education, I see parallels between Nelson-Royes’s earlier writings. What struck me about this book is what Nelson-Royes said in the preface of this book: “It takes a village to raise a child”. This is a popular proverb with a clear message that the whole community has an essential role to play in the growth and development of children. Families are what make up our larger communities, and communities are what influence our children positively or negatively.
