My daughter loves these books. However, we found the ending to be very hurtful. My daughter has Alopecia. She is 9 years old and completely bald. Its extremely hard enough to deal with the stares and comments of others. The purpose of reading is to lose yourself a little and have fun. How can it be enjoyable for a child to be reminded of her condition in such a hurtful way. I am sure the author didnt mean to hurt little girls with an autoimmune disease that makes them lose their hair, but a little more thought next time would go a long way. There is nothing wrong with being bald.

Very bad story, (At least Marabelle isn't bald." ) request for the Author! Think before you
write something what can be very hurtful for children without hair!!!!

I am a mother of a daughter with Aloepcia. Aloepcia is an auto immune disorder where she battles with hair loss. In the past, my 2 girls have enjoyed reading Fancy Nancy books. I am glad I read these reviews before purchasing this book. I find it in very bad taste from the author and the editors that they could conclude a children's book in this manner. It was a careless act in which no thought was put into the damage on single sentence could do to a child with hair loss. There is no excuse for their actions. Fancy Nancy books have always seemed to celebrate differences between people but this book did not portray that lesson. Please don't spend your money on this book.

My daughter with Alopecia loves Fancy Nancy books but I was really disappointed with the ending. Since my daughter is bald, this was NOT the book for us; unfortunately I didn't realize it until we were reading it. Really wish the author and publisher had embraced the message of love for our differences, rather than stating “After all, it could have been worse. At least Marabelle isn’t bald.” Nancy is reunited with her doll because she is different and it would have been much nicer to celebrate and love those differences rather than putting them down. Bald is Beautiful.

Just like the previous Fancy Nancy Books, this one has a cute story with a nice little lesson. My 5 year old loves the story and illustrations. We enjoy reading this book together and I'm sure it's one we'll read over and over.

My daughter absolutely LOVES this book. This is one of the best in the Fancy Nancy series. Teaches a good lesson in the end. My daughter thinks it is hilarious what JoJo does to the poor doll. Anyone with younger siblings will loves this book.

Fancy Nancy is like any girl with a sibling who longs for a day without her younger sister getting into her things...very creative. The illustrations are amazing and my grand niece just loves the book. Check it out! It won't disappoint.
