Fiercely independent and newly single mom Emmaline Hart has spent the last thirteen years putting everyone's needs before her own. Secretly afraid that her ex-husband's assertions that she's too uptight are right, Emma nonetheless keeps her life, and her emotions, firmly under control, fearful of getting hurt again. However, when she meets the dangerously attractive Beckett Black on a job assignment, the way his casual touch sends her pulse racing forces her to acknowledge her growing need to move beyond her fear. When Beckett offers her a job writing the memoir of his father, a renowned cancer researcher, Emma jumps at the career opportunity and the chance to get to know Beckett better.

Emma spends her days with the renowned doctor, who has spent his career studying a plant in the Amazon that has the potential to cure cancer, and her nights with Beckett, who slowly pushes past her fears and breaks down her barriers, introducing her to a passionate and forbidden love that surpasses her wildest fantasies. As the doctor's story of secrets and cover-ups unravels, so does Emmaline's view on everything she thought she knew about herself and the power of surrender.

Three brothers, bound by a secret that could change the world of medicine.
Three women, hired to protect the secret that someone is willing to kill for.
The last thing they expected to find was love.

I liked the story premise - second chance love. Some of the story dragged: I got bored and skimmed through some places. A little too much indecisive relationship drama for me.

Smart, funny and well written! This was my first book by Ms. Bush, but it won't be my last. Sexy and powerful, you will love her characters!

This was a delightful second chance at love story. This is the first in the Black Brothers trilogy. Beckett is a commanding force and there’s no wonder Emmaline is attracted to him. I found him very full on and at some points too much. There’s no doubt that he wants her. He’s actually wanted her for months and I like how the two end up being together. What I really liked was the growth from Emmaline. Divorced and still dealing with a man-child ex-husband who tries to manipulate her at every turn, the amount of times she apologised to Beckett over things was getting repetitive. Thankfully the apolgosing diminishes as her confidence of being in a relationship grows. She’s still strong willed but she has to learn the lines of being a submissive.  The lead up to the sex scenes are skin prickle worthy. When you get to the scenes – lordy – talk about hot flushes.  I really enjoyed the pace of the book, there’s a good balance of drama, tension and sex. I didn’t predict the twists and turns at the end of the book and I love when an author is able to do that to me. I was kindly provided with a free copy of this book from the author to provide an honest review. Receiving this book for free did not influence my opinion nor review.

This is my first read of Ms. Bush and I can say she did not disappoint me.  She can sure write some HOT and STEAMY love scenes.  And it is not only a great love story but suspense and mystery.  Not that the suspense and mystery were a big part of the book and I am glad for that. Take from that what you will.  The story is about a woman who is finally ready to let herself go and to have her boundaries pushed by a gorgeous alpha male who will help her become fearless.  And Beckett is one dominant male.  I love the fact that the story is about them finding each other and exploring boundaries. Not fighting the relationship but letting it grow.  I tend to enjoy books more when there isn’t a lot of drama regarding the main characters on fighting their attraction for each other.  But that is just me!   I give this book 5 stars on the hotness ranking and 3 stars on the rest of the story (there were some parts where I just zoned out and skim read).  But all in all I loved the book and cannot wait to read the next story involving Griffith. * ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW *

Review books are so precious. More often than not I actively solicit them and some times they end up on my Kindle before the release date. However from time to time I have someone come to me and ask me to read their book for which I’m extremely humbled and grateful. This is such a book. Ms Bush contacted me in November and asked that I review her book. I’m now thrilled to pass along my impressions and feelings about this book. This book is very much about new beginnings. Emma has spent the majority of her life looking out for others and is finally granted the opportunity to experiment not only for her professional career but in her personal life. The fact that this is a woman with a firm grasp on who she is and her responsibilities really resonated with me and helped me to appreciate not only her decisions but her attempt at being “free”. The fact that she is struggling in one area of her life just made her that much more of a woman I could go out for a cup of tea and a great long chat about our respective relationships or lack thereof. Our hero is such a complex character that at first I was fearful we would only be given a sliver of the depth but thankfully as Emma learns then so do we as the reader. Before the end of the book I had run the gamut of emotions with Beckett: loved him, hated him, wanted Emma to never see him again but just as she was irresistibly drawn to his magnetism I was drawn. When these two are in the same room together, Wow! Words fail to grasp the sheer level of heat that these two naturally exude and combustible when they are in the same room with each other. And Beckett does like to have control when they are together. Every now and then a story such as this comes along and you truly enjoy it for the interactions and chemistry between the characters. However this story has depth and darkness for those longing to suppress this knowledge that had me on the edge of my seat hoping and praying that all would be sorted out by the end. This is part of a series but is NOT a cliffhanger for those of you on the cusp of buying it. Final Thoughts: If this sounds even remotely like a book you would enjoy that may I suggest, no recommend, that you click on one of these buy links because Beckett is one book boyfriend that you may not want to say goodbye to any time soon. Brynley Bush provided me with a copy of Fearless but nothing else was exchanged for my honest review.
