About the Author

After working for many years as a criminal appeals attorney in New York, Tonya Plank now lives and writes in Southern California. A former amateur ballroom dancer, she wrote the dance blog, Swan Lake Samba Girl. Her first novel, Swallow, won several awards, including gold medals in the Independent Publisher and the Living Now Book Awards, and was a finalist in ForeWord's Book of the Year and the National Indie Excellence Awards.

When not writing, she enjoys taking road trips with her rescue dog, Sofia, devouring Mexican food and Cadillac margaritas, sweating to dance-based workouts, cuddling up with her cats and a good book, and of course seeing dance performances of any kind. Her favorite places in the world are Lincoln Center in New York City, the Pacific Coast Highway from Laguna Beach to San Francisco, and the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.

Wow! What a fantastic look at life in the world of ballroom dancing! Plank returns to the world of Fever with the same enjoyable style that we found in the first novel and takes the story even further. She develops both the sensuality and the technicality of ballroom dancing. At the same time, she tackles some more in depth and intricate subjects, adding more complexity to the tale. Plank definitely kicked up her character development a notch with this one. I really enjoyed getting a deeper look at the individuals that we met in the first novel. I really felt for Rory throughout, even if I didn’t always agree with her actions. This dichotomy had me wanting to get to know her even better. This is a great addition to Plank’s series. But I will warn readers, this is a series that definitely should be read in order for full impact. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Tonya Plank's FEVER (INFECTIOUS RHYTHM series) is a sexy contemporary ballroom romance in three parts that delivers real characters, a fascinating look into the scandalous competitive ballroom dance scene and PASSION - on the dance floor AND in the bedroom. Rory is an L.A. lawyer whose love of dance is reignited when she meets ballroom champion Sasha at her boyfriend's holiday party. In part 2, Rory's confidence in her abilities on the dance floor grows, but she experiences doubt in her relationship with Sasha, a perfectionist who appears to be hiding secrets from his past. The sexual tension from part 1 pays off very well in part 2. HOT!! Also of note, Plank tastefully handles the secondary story line that further explores Rory's reemerging eating disorder.
