About the Author
Bobbi French was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She was a practicing psychiatrist working with children and adolescents until she ran away to France where she lives with her uncommonly patient husband. She now divides her time between eating, writing and grappling with French grammar.
Most Helpful Customer Reviews
I frequently find "My Experience in France" books to be either filled with disaster or guilty of sentimental overload. Ms. French does neither. She tells her story in a realistic tone; smoothly and seamlessly (i.e., no jumping around in the timeline). There are no over-the-top adventures, infuriating obstacles or maudlin sentimentality. Starting over is never easy, let alone doing it in a foreign country and culture. Bobbie French does a great job of sharing her experiences, unexpected self-discovery and renewal of her vitality. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to other francophiles who dream of finding themselves in France.
