Usually by book nine a series looses something or repeats something until one wants to say get over it in this book neither senario takes place. Characters mature and evolve and excitng things still happen. So enjoy it's great.

Even though this is the 9th in the series, the world of Mercedes continues to evolve in interesting ways. Relationships and characters deepen and mature. What an accomplishment as the author grows her story awhile avoiding the repetitious pitfalls of most long running series. A fun quick read- who needs sleep anyway?

I really enjoyed checking in with Adam, Mercy, and the pack! While this novel read more like a stepping stone into a much larger adventure, it was still very enjoyable! I like the new additions to the cast and can't wait to see how things play out. I really wish we could get the next book sooner!

I couldn't wait for this to come out and of course I read until I could barely keep my eyes open then took a nap and then read some more. I loved this story immensely! Praise to Patricia Briggs for doing it again and I can't wait for the next one!

Get the book, I promise you won't regret it. Mercy is the women most books claim to have that never do. She is strong, smart, brave, and is an actual good persin. She has morals and stays true to herself. Mercy is an amazing role model.

This series is over for me. It's become a poor caricature for what it once was.

I am a huge fan of the mercy Thompson series...however this new installment fell flat. Upon reaching the final page I felt like I was cheated out of a good story. A few things were touched upon that could have been elaborated later that were not touched again. Almost like the plot was rushed. Just a bitter disappointment.

I am a die-hard Patricia Briggs fan. The storyline was very interesting, and the banter was great. I have never expressed a negative opinion about any of her books; however, this book was short and had alot of filler details that were unnecessary to the storyline. I was very frustrated with this book. So disappointed!

As expected this was another brilliant Mercy story by Briggs. The story was true to the series as always but I did miss Sam, Stephan and more of Bran. While not happy with all aspects of the story (BRAN'S) I was thrilled with the overall story telling. Also, some Coyote would have been nice as he always livens things up. Definitely worth 5 stars all the way around.

7 hours and 15 minutes after starting Fire Touched, I finished with many eager expectations for the directions this world may take! Masterfully accomplished, Patty! Ah, now for the second read through at a less breathless pace, to better enjoy the anticipation of things to come the second time around! (sighs, feeling very satisfied!) Life picks up for Mercy and others about 2 months after we left them, which feels very satisfying. We've several times walked with wounded Mercy (who still sometimes has bad moment flashbacks). She's past that, and trying to figure out putting her business-life back together. Of course she canNOT be allowed to do so in peace! What sort of story would THAT be?!? A troll goes for a stroll. Mayhem happens! Mercy is called by her police-friend Tony to help with the Troll. Fae both oppose and assist Mercy in her journey. NEW fae, on both counts, that is, as well as some golden oldies. Ah, Fidel, I've longed for your return...! Two characters from one of her short stories in the Mercyverse make a splash... and promised to play more later! (SQEEE! Yes, I hoped to see more of both of them, but expected it would be more short-stories, not MAIN NOVEL TIME!) Ah-hem. Yes. But TRUE, without spoiling things! Mercy and Adam get some quality time with a number of Gray Lords... again, golden oldies AND new cast members! (Uncle Mike, I've missed you!) And for those of you who remember Mercy's first trip Underhill... don't relax. She's got another one in this book. The first, for those who don't recall, was in Iron-Kissed, and she met some freaky-scary Gray Lord that even Zee treats with humble respect. Zee crashes a Gray Lord party, and MUCH fun ensues! The best part of my review? It's not all in order of how it unfolds! And I've not told you how it ends, but it ends with a smile. Please do enjoy!

Mercy and Adam are unstopable . Enjoyed the play between human, werewolf, faerie and the Underhill. I am so ready for the next book

I was surprisingly disappointed in this novel. The novel was mostly filled with unnessacery verbiage that simply added to its word count. Due to the filler, I found myself skimming through the majority of the novel. The author simply needed to get to point to keep the reader's attention. I sincerely hope that the series' next novel is more to point minus the wordiness.

I was happy to get her newest book.l starting reading half way I put it down for awhile. After starting it once I realized this was not one of her best and stopped reading it . Sorry I hope her next one is up to her high standers.

So disappointed with this book. I've read every book in this series and eagerly awaited its next installment. To say this story fell flat is a understatement. The storyline never gained momentum; I kept waiting for the climax and never got one. The plot is weak -Aiden's character had no depth, was not likeable, and I certainly wasn't routing for him. There is absolutely no excitement in the Adam and Mercy relationship - the novelty wore off, the relationship fizzled out, but someone forgot to tell them. Nudge? Really? That's all you got? You know you've got a problem when the dynamic between Adam and Christy is more exciting than Adam and Mercy. I don't mind spending $13.99 for a much anticipated release, but this was an incredible waste of money and time. No longer invested in this series. It's over for me; time to move on.

I love the Mercy Thompson series. This installment introduces a few new characters and brings back many loved characters. The story line was not that interesting and dragged a little. It is worth reading

The tension is rising between the fae and the rest of the world. Their machinations are coming to a head and it seems Mercy and the ones she holds dear are caught in the middle. A human child emerges from fairy, to protect this child Mercy and her werewolf family end up giving the child their protection, against Bran’s wishes. But the power this child hold is something some fae will do anything to possess even if it means unleashing devastation and destroy some of their treasured own. Will the good of the many outweigh the life of one? Mercy’s character and her relationship with Adam and the pack continue to grow and develop. Just when you think you can’t love this cast more, Patricia Briggs makes you think again. Each and every installment in the Mercy Thompson series provides an imaginative, fresh and action intense installment. Fire Touched continues this trait of excellence in brilliant story telling. If you couldn’t tell, I loved this book and this series. Fire Touched is truly an urban fantasy series that must be written with the magical golden quill that I highly recommend. Precaution: Reading this novel has been known to cause serve book hangover syndrome. I received this ARC copy of Fire Touched from Berkley Publishing Group - Ace in exchange for a honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! As soon as I had this book, I set everything else aside and started it right away. It has been two long years since I had a new Mercy Thompson book to read and this book proved to be worth the wait. It really had just about everything that I could have hoped for. There was tons of excitement, some tender moments, and some scenes that made me laugh. I haven't read a book this entertaining for a very long time. Can I just say up front how much I love this series?!?! It has been so much fun to watch these characters developed over the course of the series. Mercy and Adam are so good together and I find it really refreshing to see such a solid relationship demonstrated in this series. I think I like Mercy just a bit more with every book. She is really such a wonderful character. She knows her weakness and doesn't try to pretend that they don't exist. She doesn't make a lot of assumptions and when she makes a mistake, she owns up to it. This book is filled with action and excitement from beginning to end. An epic fight with a troll on a bridge leads Mercy and the pack to become protector of a boy who has lived with the fae for many, many years. Adam's pack finds themselves in a difficult situation that must be handled with extreme car. I love the pack politics in this book. I think that everything has been leading up to this moment for a while but I loved seeing how everything played out. The writing in this book was nearly perfect. The pacing was well done with the more exciting scenes between nicely spread throughout the book. The lighter moments were well placed in the story and it seemed liked any time I needed a laugh, I soon found one. The characters continued to develop in this installment and really proved to be one of the strengths of the book. As I read this book, I was completely immersed in Mercy's world and happy to be there. I would highly recommend this series to fans of urban fiction or anything paranormal. I do recommend that this series be read in order since the characters and world have changed and developed over the course of the series. Plus the rest of the books are excellent so why would anyone want to skip them? I have been a fan of Patricia Briggs and this series for a long time and I plan to continue to read and re-read this series many times in the future. I received an advance reader edition of this book from Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review.
