How do I describe this book? Three words come to mind: Phenomenal........ Spot-on.......... Heartbreaking.......... Fisher's Light is about the marriage of Fisher and Lucy. Fisher and Lucy meet as children, she moves away and ends up back on Fisher's Island as a teenager. Fisher has always lived on Fisher's Island, meets Lucy and they are inseparable. Fisher joins the Marines..... war happens. This book follows Fisher and how he deals with his experiences; it also follows Lucy and how she deals with Fisher and her experiences. Ms. Sivec wrote an amazing, accurate, heartbreaking, heartwarming story of a couple who are both dealing with the fallout of War. That fallout being PTSD and how it can affect a marriage. I wish I could give this more stars on this review, so I will just award them in this review: 10 stars!

This story deals beautifully with the strength of love, and how loving another helps make us strong. As an aside, I loved every variation of nickname found for Stanford. Thanks to all the Fishers out there who fight to keep us safe.

Love is not always perfect and when it's not, how you fight through and end up still together in the end is what true love really is.

I hate to say this because I love EVERYTHING by this author but this story fell short for me. It had a good start and a good premise but about half way through the story something changed. There was too much self pity (on both ends) for my liking. Plus, the back and forth POV and time frame was distracting after the first few chapters. I'm sorry to say that I just started skimming the pages. The characters never seemed to talk to each other. Instead they settled for having the same thoughts replayed over and over again in their heads. There was just too much redundancy in this story....he made a mistake, she was hurt, she was strong. Those sentences overwhelmed this book. I gave this book 3 stars because I really did like the plot. It just could of been executed better.

This is an amazing story about Fisher and Lucy and the trials and tribulations they endured with Fisher's multiple deployments. This story is tragic and beautiful about the power of love and miscommunication. It's about they loyalty of family and friends. It's also about forgiveness and self-discovery. Tara Sivec has done a brilliant job giving us a glimpse inside the mind within the grasp of PTSD. I laughed and I cried...a lot! And in the end I was filled with a deep satisfaction that everything, including death, ended up as it was meant to be. My emotions are still reeling from the intense feelings while reading this book. If I wasn't completely in awe of this author's ability before I read this book, I certainly am now. I highly recommend reading this beautifully written book.

Another fantastic read by Tara Sivec. This book had all the things. It dealt with a serious topic PTSD in the military but did so in a beautiful way. It had first love, true love, passion, heart break, humor, and redemption. Fisher's Light is one of Tara Sivec's best. If you like second chance romances, that will tear your heart apart and put it back together again while laughing in between you will love this book.

I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This story is one of those that will rip your heart out and also have you laughing at times. All the while reading you wounder how the author can ever put your heart back together. Tara Sivec has done that to me with this fantastic story. Jefferson "Fisher" Fisher III is not what his father wants him to be, which is to follow in his footsteps. Fisher wants his own life, when he enlist in the Marines, he meets the love of his life on the same day. Lucy Butler knows all about Fisher and his wondering ways. She doesn't want anything to do with him but Fisher charms her. He finds himself wanting to be with her just to be near her. As they fall deeper in love, Fisher gets deployed ever few years. This story is in the span of 15 years. Each time he comes back to her, there is pieces of him missing and all Lucy wants it to help him. When the demons from his nightmares start showing up while he is away, he has to make Lucy leave before he hurts her. He would never hurt her on purpose but the PTSD is so bad that he doesn't trust himself. So he drives her away. Lucy is shattered, with her heart broken into a million pieces. When Fisher returns a year later, she doesn't want to want him but her heart is fighting her mind. Which will win? Can she listen to what Fisher was going through and forgive him? Can Fisher make her see that it has only ever been her? This story will show you some of the side effects of PTSD that victims go through and also how it affects family members and friends. If you are looking for a different kind of love story, then you should really read this one. You will no be disappointed. I sure wasn't, I loved it. **Wicked Reads Review Team**
