Paige Sullivan's life is a train wreck. In a matter of months she lost her business, her swanky apartment, and her big city life. Now she's stuck in Nowhere, New Hampshire, sleeping on her mom's couch. If that wasn't bad enough, she's forced to do odd jobs for money. She has a plan though, and once she's saved enough, she's out of there. That is, as long as she doesn't murder her sexy new employer first.

Asher Thompson is the ruggedly handsome hermit of the Thompson clan. Tall, ridiculously sexy despite his beard, and annoyingly aloof, his main concern is his privacy. He fills his days with his work as a carpenter and the peaceful solitude of his lake house. A peaceful solitude that vanished the moment Paige Sullivan stormed into his life, hell-bent on driving him crazy.

The problem is, opposites attract and each time they cross paths she works her way further under his skin.

When you move back home with Mom at age 30 because your business fails it hard until you meet a handsome woodworker/furniture maker who lives almost like a hermit. Recommend this book!

More romance for the Thompson clan, and this time it's all about the reclusive Asher. Paige and Asher don't exactly hit it off at first, giving this one almost an enemies to lovers feel. The quips and barbs they throw at each other kept me amused and laughing and even then, the chemistry between them is almost palpable. Asher is such a great character. He's the strong, silent type, but doesn't have a problem saying what needs said, and for a man who avoids people, he's nothing short of charming with Paige. This close-knit family has won me over in a big way and this one was impossible to put down. I absolutely love that the author takes her time, letting a reader get to know the characters as their romance builds. The angst is a little higher in this one than the first book, but it's still not over done, keeping the story light-hearted and fun.

Fix Me Not by Carey Heywood is the second book in her series, The Fix . Told in dual POV, this is a well crafted romantic tale of a reclusive man and the outgoing woman who complements him more than either expected. Asher Thomspon likes his space and his privacy. Outside of that space the press of people and need for conversation becomes overwhelming. His family understands this about him and push him out of his comfort zone when needed but are also content to let him be who he is. After his housekeeper has an accident and can no longer work for him for the next couple of months she sends her daughter in her place to make sure he is taking care of himself. Paige is the furthest thing Asher expected, in more ways than one. Paige has always detested hearing her mother talk about Asher. Honestly, she is jealous. Her mother cares so much about "Asher" and could give two hoots about Paige. But this trip home is NOT about that. It is about getting back on her feet and making a come back. It doesn't matter that her vent planning business went belly up. She knows what went wrong and is going to work night and day to save the money to start over. Perhaps in Texas... Definitely NOT in New Hampshire. When her mother convinces her to help Asher while she herself is unable they do NOT get along, and that is the nicest way to put it. But things change and so does the chemistry between these two unlikely characters The wonderful writing behind Paige and Asher's romance allows them to spark and fizzle, falter and try again. Giving you their awkward moments as much as their smoking hawt moments. Well paced and well written, I absolutely enjoyed this story and cannot wait for more of these Thompson siblings. Up next: Fix My Fall. Enjoy!
